This is not about double standards.

I have his entire blog entry, the one he deleted. 2000 words.

In it he expressed his guilt of keeping quite for many years. He finally decided to come out after LKY commented, and MP Baey Yam Keng supported the repeal of Section 377A.

He wrote this blog entry (he called it a letter) because he believe its time we should do something about homosexual rights in Singapore and he has the responsibility to come out.

So he meant it to be public. But he had to remove it after pressure from MOE.

I still have his blog entry, I will post it up soon.

The double standard identified there is about teachers having no freedom to blog. And the teacher's blog should be left private.

So I reply saying it is no double standard in this way because the teacher in this case wanted the blog to be read by everyone

He took it down not because students chanced upon it, in fact he wrote it in at attempt to support the recent support for repealing section 377A. So he would want people to read it.

He took it down because the MOE pressured him to do so.

That is true in America. But this is SINGAPORE.

You think gays are normal, I think so too.

But most of the people here, especially religious ones, do not think so.

No matter how one denies it, Singapore lacked freedom of speech, and is far from an open society.

Thus in this case, there is a need for gays (especially teaching professions) to step out.

Fact is they are being treated unfairly. Look up Section 377A.

Judging from the amount of misinformations you have in your post, you seriously need to read the teacher's letter, understand the issue here, then comment.

whether one thinks someone is normal or not is just base on one’s personal or moral preferences. they should not be enacted in law. if you say that german laws enacted by hitler against jews were wrong, vatican laws during the inquisition were wrong, japanese laws against singaporean rebels during the occupation were wrong, what makes you so sure that PAP’s laws against homosexuals are right???

I apologise for being misinformed. It will take time to persuade the religious to think otherwise. Stepping into their shoes, Gays are not normal. If you think about it, the ultimate goal of sex is to reproduce. Men are not supposed to have sex with other men. Rather than say that Gays are normal, i would say that they are not but they are natural and being gay is not a sin.

alot of the older generation thinking is primitive, you don't think that way doesn't mean they don't.

It has always been about sex. Men do not have sex with men. During the 80s they had been blamed for AIDs with some quarters saying that this was a disease to punish them...it didn't help that they were deemed to lead a promiscuous lifestyle.
