The PAP ruling clique already dominates parliament, there is no motivation for them to alter the status quo.

There must be more opposition in parliment to counter the PAP hegemon.

Need more opposition members to outnumber PAP members to be in parliament, if there are just a handful of oppositions it will not work.

The Youths will definitely be reached by PLP.
Why not? I hardly see WP on TV talking to any Youth.
In such a situation, PLP will surely reach the Youths.

Can the WP ever get the chance to do the same?
If not what does this mean?

If WP cannot reach the Youths, our future Opposition leaders, is it not obvious that PLP will have more influence till the end of time?

People should be altruistic and act out of a sense of duty to the nation. Those who cannot stand for election because of some missing factors like oratorical gift or high education can still try to do this duty by persuading others with potential to stand for election.

Such candidates need not be very well educated but if they are in possession of passion to serve and with some past professional or administrative experiences or expertise in running companies or organizations such people will be eligible and stand a chance to win as people have come to realize now that the ruling party's candidates with high educations have become followers for their own career path and not the right candidates for them.

So go on and spread the word of Encouragement to others and this will be your contribution to change.

How can a leader be without ambition?

I wonder if all the PLP P-65s have ambition to one day take over as PM?

Or will we continue forever to rely on that familee?

I wonder if they also compete within against one another.

Else, what does that mean? No competition within? then ambition to lead?

If not, what happens when the familee run out of silver bullets?

I visited the website and am glad to know that WP Youth Wing is also active and has many members.

I looked at the Events section and sees that they have consistently organised events every other month or so. Hope to see more of such as I really feel that the public is largely unaware its existence.

I hope more youths can help get answers from the PLP. I wonder if they can participate in the upcoming info sessions by the PLP. I wonder what happens if these questions are asked directly, without rehearsal , nucensored, unedited, 'live' on national TV. Laughing Of course, it would never be allowed so imho. The list of questions without answers is getting longer. So, there is a lot of work for WP.

Kudos to the Opposition for doing the nation a service by taking on a role so many is afraid of. But we should know that their role is a very important one if we want a healthy democracy - Power to the People. I wonder how many know their rights. I have asked before, do singaporean know if they have the RIGHT to reject a policy or demand a better one?

Lets say PLP wants to implement a new policy. And no one questions. Is it good? And what evil is done if Opposition challenge the PLP? I think only the public benefits out of such exercise. Why? Many are not so knowledgeable about policies. And the rights too. A debate gives them a in-depth understanding in an official kind of way.

Without a stronger Opposition, the People will loose out in the long run, if not already so. Wink

There is every reason for a strong Opposition. Singapore's Opposition is considered, imho, the most decent of all Oppositions in the world.
I sleep well knowing that WP did well in the last big E.
I sleep well because there is a ray of hope still left.
I will feel blinded without this light of hope.

What makes you think for a moment this lot of despots actually hold any credibility in the international community? (Economics is by no means an indication of credibility in the political sense - just look at China and you get the drift)

The worst thing you could do is play a game by its rules and subscribe to the state-defined notion of credibility.

Which was not reported in the press compared to Young PAP news all the time.

Personally, I think the numbers in the WP Youth Wing is far from ideal and nothing to boast about Surprised

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been doing my part to educate the people on not to be fearful about the gahmen. So far have not come across any of the people you mentioned above, if I come across I will encourage them.

Media plays a very vital role, unfortunately local media is controlled by the regime. To me there is still hope for the opposition, as I have been reading many young people are interested to give WP a chance and they think that so far WP is doing well as compared to other oppositions. If media can't help, we will need to help to spread the word by mouth so more youth will join WP.
