Why would the Harvards, Yales, MIT's or Stanfords want/need to
invest here?
These world-renowned institutions, unlike the UNSW, do not depend -
nor need - on soliciting funds through running overseas campuses.
The really top universities, unlike Singapore's top universities,
do not even need to put up ads to pull in their best applicants and
they can pretty much still fill their campuses if they tripled
their yearly enrolment.
As a matter of fact, these universities have endowment funds
measuring in hundreds of millions - that, alone, would more than be
enough to help them tide over any immediate cashflow problems.
