why don't you asked the education minister
how much funds was poured into
the nsw university
that closed within 3 months?
and what was our ministers promises?
world class
world standard
world best
p.s. soon the waterloo university would be coming up
would that too become another expensive white elephant
projects?
When a private sector major business enterprise is to launch a
new product it sure will have to conduct full marketing research
and come out with sound implementation strategies based on 4Ps
etc.
In addition to the 4Ps there will be overall Marketing Plan with
strategies fully identified to take advantage of one's internal
resources, expertise, like spelt out in the Sun Szu Art of
War.
Workers at every level will be encouraged and motivated to apply
knowledge in their respective fields so as to come up with products
which are saleable and needed by the world.
After all the ad hoc world-class projects, from growth triangles to
value-adding industries, we are still waiting for ministers to show
us which are the added values to our industries or our workers'
wages and lives.
We only continue to see legalistic wrangling of all kinds to
regulate and control businesses but are these wrangling really
helpful to promoting our economy as value-adding manufacturing and
service hubs ?
If the answer to the above-mentioned need for holistic planning and
implementation of economic and marketing strategies is still
uncertain or a qualified yes how could our ministers claim to be
talents at all.
No wonder UNSW has to suffer from such a flop because of the lack
of consistent strategic implementation as a major business would
do.
From the past experiences, ministers and EDB and MTI would claim
success. They would put up ad hoc window showcases to make it look
like world class.
The truth is clearly there is no consistent implementation in all
areas of businesses being promoted and there is still no
encouragement of citizens in pursuing value-adding industries or
new technology start-ups.
Therefore to improve ministers should not just talk but be held
responsible for not effectively implementing or overseeing the
entire plans of such a nature as promoting an education hub.
