are these FT going to stay, are they integrating and growing with the society they have adopted or bringing their previous habits from their countries. Are these people providing and contributing to this “new home” or stripping the country bare like locust? If Bill Gates, Zhu Rong Ji, or quality foreigners come to singapore to grow with us and contribute, no local will make issue. However, what I guess the local feel is that more often we are getting a locusts invasion…

Is it so surprising that there are less and less Sillyporeans around....its got to do with a word called 'GLOBALIZATION' Smile

Many of us including me have called ourselves ex-Sillyporeans and left...nothing wrong with those who stayed behind because they love Sillypore...likewise Sillypore is welcoming people from India, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam to come and work here...better yet if they are highly educated and got lots of $$$, pink IC straight away...

The sooner Sillyporeans accept this fact the better.....

haha not only u! my place here too.i stay at Chinatown0.sometimes i wonder if this is singapore or some china states.Maybe i say no use... so you guys better come down here in chinatown and have a look yourself what is happening to chinatown now.sadly to tell you guys, chinatown is no more a singapore town but a really really 'CHINA' town.

I'm not holding my breath for Singaporeans to defend the country in times of crisis.
It's a matter of time that they realize that they are being exploited for single-minded economic development that will never benefit them.

As for my suggestion to transfer privileges from citizens to foreigners, that is a decidedly absurd proposition, but made real by taking the whole 'foreign talent' policy to its logical conclusion.
Similarly the replacement of government and civil servants by FTs. It sounds ridiculous, but that is exactly what you get when you push hardcore meritocracy to its extreme. Why hire a Singaporean when a foreigner can do the job even better, and cheaper to boot?

why hire a singaporean when anyone from any other country who gotten PR can also become a citizen?

to get PR, have a skill and apply , can get in very short time. World record.

How difficult to get citizenship after getting the PR?

But after they get citizenship, they will also be in the same shoe.

This is after they renounced their motherland citizenship.

Indeed, when a FT become PR and later Citizenship, they have the same fate as us. They will kick out by other cheaper, talent foreign worker. Vicious cycle…...During that time, they will start to make noise.

Funny thing, I see more migrants settling down near my estate, going to neighbourhood schools and serving BMT.

One should never dismiss all scenarios.

My BMT platoon was multi-national, Burmese, Japanese, American, Australian, Thai etc.. Laughing

AFAIK, those PR will be given a choice to be local citizen?

Yeah, in fact, the Japanese and American had already applied to be citizens.

Had a Russian recruit in the next company too, he was their best in drill.

These are the thing same for local n PR

1) School fees for local n citizen same but going increase a bit for the PR in October.

2) Medical fees for local n citizen same except up a bit for PR in October.

3) Buying of properties local can buy subisidized HDB but PR resale market.
PR cannot buy landed properrty except with permission.

4) Second generation PR need to serve NS same as local.

i got people around me... from china, malaysia, indonesia, hong kong, taiwan, Philippines, japan (some PR and some FT)... said that they will return to their home country after squeeze (said in a kind term - earn) enough $$$ from s'pore...

YOU think they so free to stay here to help YOU to fight for YOUR country when there's a war... it's YOUR business... please

when they step out of their own country, what they want is $$$... where got $$$, where they go...

btw, what i based on is facts and speak right from their mouth...
i not like some people here based on imagination, dreams, assumption, ideal scenario...
