Dude, please go to the mirror and do a reflection. Ask yourself,
are you in the financial service or services relating to economic
analysis? If you are, then use your Bloomberg and do a comparison
chart between STI vs HSI. Please stop living in a world of your
own. wake up !!! I never say if Hong Kong is worse or better, I
just merely reflecting what happening using reports from respected
new agencies and not taboids.

I am not angry. I just ponder who
are we to be able to condemn others homeland while condone our own
socio economic failings. Judge not others unless we wanted others
to judge us. Remember we live in a metropolitan city and
globalization is the trend now
Cant u see my postings based on facts and figures, and

Okay, as you can say so
mumbo jumbo is correct. so ? Look at the world economics last week,
the global markets too has lots of negatives eg higher inflation
economic numbers, higher crude oil prices and the subprime rates
fears .....bearish right? Yet the equity global markets trending
higher. So dude please look at around and not those mumbo jumbo
stuff. Hey, I like numbers too because i based my trading on
technicals
Why u not happy when i say somethings against common
wisdoms among Sporeans?
What is common wisdoms among
Sinaporeans ??? Condemn others and make one self looks good.
Look....this is not the way to go. What we should do is to apply
what that is useful and avoid making the same mistakes others
made.
1.US $$ peg
Do u know what is negative interest rates happened in HK?
Once upon a time in HK,the inflation rate is much higher
than bank loan interest rate,(ie the real interest rate is
negative),
the property bubbles was growing bigger and bigger.
What is new? The Swiss had
negative rates in the 80s, the Japanese had it in the 90s.
Singapore too, had been easing rates from late 90s til 2006 right
?
The more i borrowed,the more I earn.
That is good, lower interest
rate encourage public spending directly simulate economic
growth.
Why did HK gov increase the bank loan interest rate to
cool dwn property market?
Thanks to the peg sys.HK gov could not do this.
Turn to opposite situation. When HK real interest rate was
very
high and the economy was very weak, the best was to
lower the real interest rate. But again,HK could not do this.
What you is not
true,,,,,HKD(as peg to USD) now has now a competitive edge agst CNY
as it is lower thus encourage mainland chinese to invest in HK thus
broasting their economy.
As we know, the better the economy...the pricier things are. As the
inflation is still managable, why should they hike rates ?
If you think the HK economy is doing bad then please do a study the
Hang Stock Index (HSI) which trending at its new High. The markets
do not lie because there are many "smart and financial savvy"
instituation investors telling us so.
Check this out :- Sharp jump in Singapore property prices
not sustainable
"It is very important for us to
make sure that the prices do not overshoot or race ahead of the
real growth in the economy," said Minister for National Development
Mah Bow Tan.
"I think it is not sustainable in the long run and, of course, it
is also not good for our competitiveness if prices and rentals go
up too fast," Mah was quoted as saying in the Sunday
Times.
2.HK public finance is in bad shape

Budget balance in HK $$ in billions
HK has been selling governemnt assets for window dressing,
like tunnels, shopping center in all public housing, land sales
procees
for operateing expenditures,etc
Pl note HK gov has been selling fore fathers assets to
support operational and capital expenses.
this is really not a good sign.
Remember,HK need not to feed armed force!!
Dunt tell me HK gov dunt charge GST then she has deficits!!
Bad Public finance is the consequence of poor polices--
lack of various industries, poor investment environ(poor air
etc)
,lack of foreign talents etc.
Have u heard of HK gov MUST maintain high property price
in order to maintain high land selling prices?
Without the land sales proceeds,HK was in deep red deficit.
Spore take land sales proceeds as savings and will not take it for
operational expenses.
Well, the fact is very clear
on this.[ Hong Kong do not has GST
!!! If their
economy is so bad,why is their stock markets treading new Highs
?
Btw Singapore too selling their assets.

Check this out :- SINGAPORE (AFP) - -
Singapore's state-linked investment firm Temasek Holdings said
Tuesday it plans to sell all three power generating companies under
its stable in the next 12 to 18 months.
3.HK residents are sinking their ship
Many local and PRC employed residents spend more in
PRC than HK.
Many HK residents work and pay tax in PRC,
but they dunt pay tax in HK!!However, their whole
family ask for free education, subsidized housing/medical etc
from HK!!How long HK can survive in this pattern?
How long is one matter but
the fact is Hong Konger do has free education, subsidized
housing/medical etc. They have social welfare, do we Singapore has
it ? Please take note CPF is our saving not welfare.
Btw Hong Kong and China is "One Country, Two System." so
what is there to compare the local and PRC
with
4.how u understand HK
can u read their newspapers and listen their radios to
feel the pulse of HK almost every day?
Dunt rely on once in a week or month news digests!!
Gee whiz, I thought i should
be asking you this question. Well, i do trade the global market
therefore it is very important to know what is happening around. I
use Bloomberg, Reuters, my counterparts in Hong Kong, of course
newspaper like the South China Morning Post. The Standard but those
are secondary. The most important is the market itself .....it is
action and reaction of most economic policies at the spurs of
time.
5.Quality of leaders
Like Tung Chee wah,Donald Tsang can make empty promise only,
failing to set priority.Tsang just like big, fame, etc
,like building the full sea view government in old HMS
Tamar,currently next
to PLA HQ.
He claimed HK could become another New York financial center
by boosting HK pop. to 11 million .(SG is already ahead HK in FX
trading
volume)
He failed to aim solve long term problems of employments,
high housing cost, lack of land, messy education
sys...[/quote
Oh yes....Thats politicians
rally speech, I do not disagree woth you on that. But hey, did or
we did not heard of minister saying that Singapore is moving
towards Swiss Cost of Living or is it Swiss standard of living
sometimes ago ?
