In the 80's there were a lot of Sg that travel outside SG to
Study. But majority of them came back to Sg to work.
But these group of individuals are mobile and work in Sg for a few
years and left. As career and experiences has been able to brought
them into the global market compared to limited local opportunity
in the 90s. There are opportunities but limited to a handfull. Not
to mention Sg has hit a series of down turn, people cannot be
statics about unemployment moving out was the recourse.
I suggest that SG should continue to be open minded. In the past
MNC were american, european, Aust, businesses. I believe in the
near future Chinese base MNC will be the ones that dominates. So
working in PRC MNC, Indian MNC, or other nationalities are going to
be the norm. FT or no FT it will diminish. It is just a disgust
from SG gov for liberal immigration policy to stimulate
demand.
Ft in any case there aren't much benefit for expat these days in
Sg.
