yes but people speculated on these shares, so speculation is a form of gambling.

want to ban casino, then ban all forms of gambling otherwise what you have is double standards. nobody going to listen when you practice double standards.

btw CAO losses were caused because they were overleveraged on their hedged positions not because they did not hedge, so we should ban the futures market here as well huh and close down all these morally evil institutions put several thousands out of jobs ... hmm good idea. Laughing

Ask the govn why they allowed 4D and Toto but banned casino for so long. Isn't the gov being illogical if your view that casino is no different from 4D and Toto.

If I remember the news correctly, a few years back, there is a bank employee who play with the bank accounts and stole a few millions from the bank. Then he betted a few hundred thousand dollars on 4D each week. Kenna 1st prize a few times and still losing millions.

my father has xiao du. Am I now qin jia dang chang ? I thoguht about 30% of singaporean do gamble regularly such as toto, 4D, soccer, jackpot or turf. So these 30% qin jian dang chang meh... Frankly the casino can also aimed to get tourist money. It may make u better off.. .

Also for toto, 4D etc, each cycle can takes a few days. For casino, the cycle is faster and it is designed for that person to prolong his stay. So if casino is established here and if your father go n try try, he will probably suffer more losses in a given period.

I not very sure but I don't think the casino lend people any money in the first place. U got to use your money and buy the chips before u can gamble isn't it ? The one who lend money is probably some illegal money lender...

I have read such cases happening in singapore court from the newspaper, that is why i mention this point.

They were making risk, and they use capital in the hope of generating more capital. The general idea is almost similar to gambling. U got to agree tat there r some idiots who knows nuts about stocks or investments but treat stocks exchange as a gamble.

Theer r millions of people who go gambling in casino. For example genting and cruise ships, there r already many singaporean who go there to gamble. Have they all become addicts ? Have they all become bankrupts. I also go to genting and gamble before. And yet I still stand here. It very much depend on individual bah...

Instead of the normal practice of hedging what they should have, CAO go out of normal practice n speculate to try to make handsome profits. But they failed.
CAO speculate the futures market instead of just hedging what they should have. Overhedging is also speculation. Cool

Casino is made for gambling, which is the bad part of stock markets when some ppl starts to speculate. But stock market isn't created for speculations, just like soccer isn't played for betting.

there r always some alarmist report out there who says tat eating things not organic will give u cancer (when nobody know wat cause cancer) or tat fuel is gonna end 50 years later (when it was said 50 years ago) or eating pork will kill mankind etc (when chinese eat pork for ages and still living). It is up for us to guage wat will really happen in the end. As said before, malaysia and many many other nations had open up casino. They r all thriving isn't it ?

soccer isn't play for betting, but people still bet. Stock market isn't created for speculations, but people still do it. Casino isn't meant to make all people bankrupt or them being addicts, it is the people who do it themselves. Can't u see the problem lies with men, not things ?
