Very unlikely for Thailand to build the canal. It's not about
the money as Japan has offered to help. The political situation in
the south is not stable. Either the canal will be destroyed before
it's completed or the control be taken over by the extremists after
it's completed. The majority of the Thais in the south has always
wanted to break away to form a new nation, not unlike Bosnia or
Chechnya.
