Pardon me, I thought there was half mast when he died? Or I remembered wrongly? In secondary school, I see about two half masts.

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Don't feel that it is a twist. They are just voicing out their thinkings.

Salman SG

Even if there is a half mast, Robert Teh will say that is hypocrisy on the part of the govt because the media told us that Nair was a communist and that the students were not taught exactly who Devan Nair was and most don't care.

Salman SG

As if they really care. My foot!

LazerLordz SG

There was a thread mourning his passing. This thread's title states it's very much a discussion about hsi burial. Why can't you put together a coherent case on why they should not discuss his burial, instead of using labels again.

Post office your lao peh's? Laughing

av98m SG

Well, the Straits Times gave him a splendid write-up in today's edition. Smile

Salman SG

why do you people need to use Devan's Nair's death and twist it to attack the govt over nothing?
I feel so sorry for you.

LazerLordz SG

Eh, brudder.Do you understand English?Always putting me with the baby that's thrown out with the bathwater..You want to criticise?Go criticise the right person and wake up your ideas.Didn't NS teach you anything?

I give up.Somethings are not meant to be improved upon. Rolling Eyes

Salman SG

I understand English perfectly sir.
You go back to the top post and read what it is all about.
Then come back and tell me if you make sense.

Robert Teh, stop using Nair's death for your own filthy agenda. Show some respect please.

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Salman, your posts are getting out of point. I think Robert is only asking whether half mast and state burial will be observed.

dragg SG

we have no proof of his innocence but neither have you any proof of his guilt.

there you go again. believing everything that you read.

meleagent SG

Lucid and flawed argument. Debate was never your forte eh Salman

Salman SG

Definitely not yours, thats for sure. You are trapped.

meleagent SG

Defiant to the end eh. Well good for you.

Precisely, i dunno what Salman is so agitated about. So can we all ascertain the facts? from news or observations in Istana or govt. buildings etc, any half-mast?

is there a state burial? no=> issit because its overseas or not enough time or the news reached Singapore late? sg govt del. delayed it?
yes=> good, then no comments.

Do we really get to 'elect' our president?

remember, DO NOT give your opinions, JUST GIVE THE FACTS! any state burial and half mast. Very Happy

dragg SG

should we form a Anti Media club? Mr. Green

There's no order at my army unit to half-mast for Mr Nair. I'm COS tomorrow and I think I'd probably raise the flag full.

Perhaps some neutral academic should attempt to write an objective, balanced biography of the late President. But I doubt he'll find it easy to access good research material here.
