Should ask why the fire engine from Civil Defence arriving so late. I thought we have the superb elite managing the Civil Defence? why can't civil defence response within certain time before the fire got to on third storey?

Something is quite wrong with our civil defence system....don't you guys think so? Such a small singapore, and yet our superb Civil defence responded so slow. What disgrace~!~!~!~!~!~!~! Mad

No point spending so much $$$ in upgrading HDB if people don't take care.
The playground esp. those made of plastics materials shouldn't be in void decks in the first place.

They will still build as usual because Town councils also smart mouth. They will say its the users responsibility and residents to report asonists. Always blame the users and who ever is there. Blame on human problem.

The building of play ground and study centres under void decks is definitely NO as it will be become more thrill for arsonist now. Even more damage then motorcycles. These places are often vandalise.

agree. but if they still want to build playgrounds in void decks then they have to install sprinklers cos the materials used for the playgrounds are combustible and there are flats above.

i real doubt Town Council will make any compensation as our govt agencies never take any responsibility.

They good at pushing away and make believe nothing to do with them and if they act, it will be in good faith and not the millions of salary.

Reminds me of the SGX CLOB sega, just walk away like that. Not a single responsibility for setting up an illegal exchange, or even come up a single cent for the transfer. This case they did not claim any credit, infact let the case died down and everyone forget it.

Also reminds me of the tampines town council responsibility of the boy that got hit by a rusty collapse lamp post while playing basketball.

no matter how fast the fire engine reponse, fire will spread just as fast.
a few minutes is all it needs once it starts flaming. Build more mini stations and have 2 man teams in smaller rhinos, located around the island.

which brings me to whether the cpmpulsory fire hoses at the blk is being used at all. They are on most blks now except mine. Comes to remind that only certain blks have fire hydrant and fire hoses om stair cases. Maybe they stop the building them.

no lor!! when they come the fire onli spread until 1st floor! after they put out the fire on 1st floor then burn until 2nd floor!!! 3rd floor onli burn ltr!!! i live tt block somemore!!!!

ya lor, got void deck but don't allow children to play sure kena complaint. now allow them to play they play with fire.

Once children play with fire, things sure kena burnt, barriers or no barriers, otherwise where got fun, last time grandma stayed in attap house anybody played with fire sure kena canned like hell.

If install sprinklers it will be boy-made rain everyday, hahaha....

Better stay higher floor, but...have to pay more and have to take lift....

then better buy landed property....but landed property got no town council to blame for fire.......

better call insurance agent, but if din buy fire insurance....go and buy toto, hopefully strike and can pay for the damage,

but if don strike how...it means no luck, it is no luck that your house got burnt in the first place....don't need to go one big round to realise that.

okay, that block of flats is just a 5-min walk frm my hse.

the playground is at the void deck because... on the other end of the void deck is the PAP kindergarten. so that playground was recently(a year? 2 years?) put up for the kids to play there..

it's just a normal plastic playground like the 'little tikes' one... so, when plastic burns, you know what happens.
