This is my view on Sembawang, everything looks flat, grassy no
heavy foliage and gardenscapes, look like a backwater town. very
spartan. Look cheap and look like shit. who wanna live there? I
look everywhere is HDB and very repetitive…
no mix of offices, shopping centres, landed property, nice looking
condos. Same with Jurong West, same with Pungol and Yishun.
URA should do some major rezoning and
SLA lower the freaking high land price over
there and let some roller coasters come in along with water parks,
tourist attractions and so forth. If they could do it with the
CBD Orchard area, I don’t see why not the
Northern Area. It takes a skilled planner to do such miracles.
Hotels should be all over singapore. Maybe even a special
underground resort or something. ANYTHING.
The way its planned now is typical SimCity style of economics, put
housing HDB and then put MRT smack bang in the middle to collect the most no. of
passengers and get lots of cash because the inhabitants are forced
to take the train.
