I suspect this is a ploy for your govt to play the good guy in anticipation of the coming general elections. The 2 operators will apply and the govt will reject their applications citing concerns for the well welfare of us peasants!

& da circle line... what a waste of civilian's money building that redundent thingy.. SG's so small... e.g it's like only 5 to 10 mins bus ride from Kallang stadium to Kallang MRT and they're gonna build a station at the stadium... no logic at all...

And its freakin unfair if they are increasin our transport fares coz of that....

Not to mention that there are always malfunction readers that seems to always over deduct the fare. Wonder how much extra money was deducted everyday from malfunctioning readers...

About the readers, anyone realise that they are always better positioned at the entrace compared to the exit where they are so darn low. They thought that 1.7m passengers walk in and 1.5m passengers walk out. The readers at the exit are very hard to read to check if the fare deducted is correct.

Also note that the deduction now is very accurate. The readers are only on when the bus is very near to the bus stop, I even experience one that will on only when its 5 metres or so away from the bus stop! This caused major inconvenience to the alighting passengers as it is easier to tap the reader when the bus is moving at a constant speed than when it is slowing down as it approaching the bus stop.

My 2 questions:
What happened to the "profits" earned by the meters?

Also what happened to the money saved from printing paper tickets?

i dont mean to be discourage ..but what actaully can we do?

who can go againt the rise ? if push to govt, they surely CB say govt will not and cannot affect the management of the SMRT.

if blame the SMRT blah blah blah...their spokeman will tell you:"wei, singapore having +8% last year. my pay also need increase mah. 10-20cent per travel si simi money? we singaporean already so rich to donate so much this year NKF, so i take it this year singaporean have too much money and have no place to spend. we(SMRT) helping you dude."

*who tell LHL happily say singapore is doing well last year and getting better the next few year.

*who ask all the singaporean(maybe inc you) to donate so much money to NKF. so high until the taiwan media also reporting.

*who tell all the dumb people who like to jump from the SMRT railway. make SMRT add more guard and camera.

I never donate to NKF this year. At least NKF donation is by choice. Something Interesting to note that when donating to NKF by phone, you need to pay the telecos. Compare to in US, you vote for the American Idols toll-free... Guess who the owns the local telcos? .... hmmmm

Since I am at NKF, why can't they just give a bank number for people to internet bank-in?
