Ahhhh, so you ARE actually paying attention!
Okay, now that you've picked up that tidbit I left for you, in that
period, the total number of local marriages was 43,771, and more
than 36,000 out of the 37,485 births in Singapore were by local
women. I do apologise for the lack of precision for the birth
figures, but I'm too lazy to line up at ICA to get a copy of their
exact figures.
And I wouldn't go talking about divorce rates so quickly. In 2002/3
the strongest rising trend of divorces is amongst women over 50.
These are women who played the dutiful wife the way you're
suggesting, only to find years later that they've been
shortchanged. If you want to cite divorce rates, therefore, you're
just working against your own argument - better watch those
blindly-quoted stats, m'lad.
And once again you're acting upon assumption. I've had no problems
with women being attracted to me, and that's why I'm not bearing an
axe to grind with them.
