if we get AH-64D apache , they will be very vulnearable to AAMs cause thier speed is damn slow..360km/hour and the only good thing they have is their super huge radar over thier rotors and the..hellfires ...actually i at 1st support AH-64 D apache longbow can fly silent , thats why quite good , but for the primary role of attacking tanks should be ok la after reading about IRAQ and Afghanistan...no more apaches please i rather take A-10 warthogs...

i will oppose any decision to make AH for sea. don't ask me why , using a AH to attack ships will result in heavy casualities...AH for land seems more appropriate maybe we can modify other types of helicopters for anti sub warfare , cause i got this feeling that a AAM platform on a ship can easily take down helicopters...very easily ..

The longbow gotta have alot of ECM and basically todays smart weapon can even hit a moving JET fighter travelling at about 1 mach++

Singapore Joins Joint Strike Fighter Programme

Singapore has signed the Letter of Offer and Acceptance to participate in the System Development and Demonstration Phase of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program as a Security Co-operation Participant (SCP). The JSF program is a US-led multi-nation project to develop an advanced, cost-effective multi-role stealth strike fighter that can perform air defense and ground attack missions with precision engagement, enhanced combat survivability and lower cost of maintenance.

Singapores bilateral SCP arrangement with the US provides an early opportunity to assess the JSFs ability to meet the Republic of Singapore Air Forces longer-term operational requirements for a multi-role fighter. Singapore will have insights into the JSFs development progress and be able to conduct studies for integration of Singapores requirements into the JSF. As an SCP, Singapore can also request early purchase of the JSF for delivery from 2012 onwards.

Singapore is the only Asian country to sign an SCP Letter of Offer and Acceptance for the JSF program. The LOA follows a Letter of Intent signed in February 2003, which laid down the broad principles for the SCP arrangement.
