Why was China kept its silence before the completion of Suchou Industrial Park?There were many visits by our senior officers to Taiwan during and prior to the completion and handover of Suchou Industrial Park!

I believe China is testing Singapore's upcoming (12 Aug) PM.
Also the Beijing leadship maybe showing its displeasure that this upcoming
Singapore PM is had gone to Taiwan 1st instead of Beijing.
Made worst when the pro-independence folks in ROC and its media gave huge
coverage on the "private" visit.

China know LKY's position as statement in Asia, but for junior Lee is still an
untested ground. Beijing wanna see how far she can push. Same goes to
Malaysia when China issued similar warnings when dealing with ROC.
Remember Malaysia's new PM and his gov is going to the poll late this yr.

Singapore, eventhough its small, is not just another "Red Dot". China is
seeking to expand her influence around Asia and any superpower-wanabe
certainly won't miss this spot.

many sporean went to china to invest but only to find that it was not as beautiful as what it hope to be.

we hv seen many beautiful examples of sporean making it big in china, but what about the failure? Some friends once told that their company investment in china is a flop but cant pull out. So many legal issues to handle. Sack people must go thru lawyers, must give reasons, employees can sue employers back, employee and employer lawyers both gang up and delay trials, so they can earn more with dealyed trials.

if these are all true, then we sporean shd just stay put, or just divest to msia or indonesia. at least we "die" knowing what went wrong.

I'm sure playing chess using other people's chessboard is definitely an unfair game, especially when the chess pieces are set by them.

Its the same in many real business environment, what the players can do is still to make the best out of the situation. And learn how to exit cleanly. How to lose this game with pride and then play another game.
