One of Comfort-Delgro’s director has been telling its investors in the AGM that its China venture has not been making any money so far, yet it is pouring more money into China!Are they investing for the sake of the name of Singapore or for the benefit of its shareholders????? It is hard to believe that most Chinese drivers drove the rental taxi back to the province or thier”kampong” without trace, yet Comfort-Delgro kept pouring in money for more investment, using those profit they raked in from Singapore and “invest’ it like what the Santa Claus did to entertain its clients!Gardenia of QAF was smarter years ago, they bowed out when they saw something was amissed and never to return to the shark infested water!

i've heard stories of sporeans opening supermarkets there but had to bow out due to the fact that more things get stolen then sold
and even if you knew that the person in front of you is not going to pay for what he\she has taken
you still can't do anything about it

I have been wondering about this question? What have we gained so far from LHL's visit?

To LHL, it is better to visit Taiwan before he became PM, but on the other side, Taiwan, China and US are conducting major war games in the area, is that a good time to visit Taiwan, the US 7th fleet commander or China?? If you know two ganster parties are preparing for war in Geylang like before (just example), do you want to take a bus there, just to show you have the right of Singaporean to visit any part of Singapore??

Of course Singapore is a sovereign country but does LHL think he should also visit Yasser Arafat in the west bank before he becomes PM?

What exactly is the interest of Singapore in this instance? I would agree if Teo Chee Hian went to talk about the Starlight operation, but since when LHL has any friends in Taiwan?

Sometimes I really wonder why is it that Taiwanese, HongKong and other businessmen are so successful in China but most of our local bizmen failed?
Actually nowadays China is no longer keen on s'porean investors anymore. They prefer investors from Europe, US, HongKong and Taiwan.

I feel so sad that a fellow Chinese is so different in intelligence and emotional maturity.Many of us hope to see a China that is a great nation, not some schoolyard bully that believes that the playground is his turf.Grow up man, and the sooner your government realises that international diplomacy is made up of compromises , the sooner we can get on with business.Furthermore, if you think Singapore is so insignificant, pray tell why your Beijing elite turned on us with such force , akin to attempting to kill a mosquito with a heat-seeking missile?

heard that the real reason why china is so pissed this time round with LHL going to taiwan is because Wen is trying to flex his muscles against Jiang. You see, Jiang and Lee family is - like family, but now, Wen is the rising star of chinese politics and even though Jiang has stepped down, he still command respect among the top cadre, and Wen is trying to down play jiang's influence....so LHL became the whipping boy.

America interfered bcos if the civil war in Haiti worsens, lots of refugees will flee northwards to Florida. Of course if this happens, it will cause unrest in Florida and it will have a negative impact on the Bush administration in the coming November elections.
United States doesn't give a shit about democracy in other countries. If they really do, they would not have supported the junta in Greece and Chile and they would not have overthrown democratically elected governments in Brazil etc.
