Sporean by nature is friendly and nice people.

You go to the econ or any other mini mart, chances are they will know you and be friendly to you if you smile and talk and of course friendly.

Life will not be so lonely anymore.

I have never begged for food or money before. But dun you think that activities like going for job interviews, talking to clients to buy your products, asking boss for pay increment/promotions, etc are all part of begging? It all revolves around getting money and food on the dinner table. We can't see it because its indirect.

However, I do agree with you that Singaporeans are more fortunate compared to 3rd world countries whose people face famine and natural disasters.

I am not a complainer at all. My last ex-gf gave me this compliment which I will remember forever.

we sgreans in politics alos have our own problem. in teh bigginning we had it not any easier. where you come from its your gahmen and policies that is the problem. your people on your own also need to buck up if they want a good life. going to another country to search for a better life may not always reap its sows, while i think or gahmen open door policies may not be the right solution to our own island's problem.

so please don;t envy us, in a feat and split second of thoughts decide to come here and create lots more social problem for us.

Anyway, you dont have to feel low or lonely. I'm a Singaporean and i certainly do welcome you to Singapore. Don't care about people. Why do you even bother if they looked at you. The reason why they look at you is probably because you're different from others. But for now, just hang out and try to explore Singapore. Try ro learn a little singlish to make others feel less "afraid" of foreigners. Try to blend in and know a little about the culture. Its natural to be home-sick. But, trust me my friend, once you're on the right track, you'll be leading the train.

Also, if you really miss home, maybe you should try "befriending" other Citizens of UK. I'm sure we have a UK circle of expats here in singapore. Cheer up!!!!!
