fellow loner (that's what girls always tell me
whereever i go), wait maybe more of a "quiet" type of guy
here.
I can go through a single school day without
uttering a single word,my weekends are not really spent with
friends, facebook/MSN chats tend to last only a few minutes and am
the class nerd since primary school. Weekends are spent at changi
coastal road cycling
Well thing is, life sometimes reach a lowpoint, what
i may usually feel as normal (quiet life) may start to feel
extremely depressing. "i have soo little friends" etc. etc. Those
phrases fill up your mind. I feel this is a phase we loners all go
through. People say you don't have a life. What is a "LIFE"?? Not
everyone was born a social butterfly, not everyone will die as one;
one would be me.
Image and personality plays the most significant
part. Are you sloppy in your grooming, tend to shun interaction
with even your classmates?(you are trying so that is a good sign),
have a stuck-up attitude (i can get arrogant at times), class
weakling in terms of sports?(JC quite competitive physically,
luckily i was quite the athelete, from skinny asian boy in primary
school to six pack secondary school kid), do you "look" dull and
boring?(again always called that by NEW girls(i know somehow girls
always upfront with me,even the pretty ones;maybe cause act too
feminine even though i'm straight) i meet). Are you grades
dreadful?? (used to be in primary school; certain classmates would
not talk to me since we were supposedly the second best class in
school and i was always failing certain subjectsin my exams,
especially chinese (always U grade :[ )
All the forumers have inputed something useful. JOIN
A CLUB!!, Get good grades (you managed to get into JC , shows
potential), get a hobby(breakdancing, chess, shooting, create a
band with friends, even tamiya modelling, anything will do)
and be serious about it.
MOST IMPORTANTLY; PERSONALITY
Be approachable, humble, cheerful (no attitude
problems). People will tend to notice less the "LONER/QUIET GUY" in
you. You'll make friends slowly but surely (just changed schools
"international school where social life is everything" and am
fitting quite well. Just to note; i was considered quite even in
local schools soo its not impossible for you to make friends, (poly
people are great!! my bestfriends went there, go meet all the
different personalities there, it will be an
eye-opener.
This Loner/Quiet Guy/Nerd/Weirdo has thus
far;
Befriended the school bitch, the person who always
gets bullied in school, the fat guy in school, school athelete, the
most beautiful girl in school (all the guys are after her), normal
looking girls, able to join the popular group (atas etc.etc.) group
in school, the group that nobody wants to join, made friends with
geeks/nerds, the ultimate school social butterfly (even the school
stud and i get along ok). Got along well in schools where all my
friend's parents are flithy rich (a few lambos and rolls here, a
few lotus and ferrari there) type of people, in neighbourhood
schools (taught me to talk in singlish like a true singaporean and
how to swear in hokkien), in "elitist" schools (MOELC for those who
know);the neighbourhood school kid who had friends from atas
schools. Friends with the students who always fail at exams, the
perfect "A" scoring students.
Don't get pressured, i only have a group of friends
that i'm close to, of which can be counted within two digits,
facebook only 79 friends.... (my parents??........)
Although people of the same group tend to click
better though... .(my friends don't understand how i can even talk
to the IT guy at school)
Be yourself, be humble, be neutral, BE YOURSELF.
You'll get there, no worries mate!!
Enjoy Poly!! (never studied in one though i have to
admit, tee-hee, although 90% of my class went there)
