In fact, I think services to the same area should be allocated to the same berth - for the exact same reason.

If the 2 services are at different berths, which berth would you want those passengers to go to? If they are in the queue of one of them (let's say service A), then when the other service (let's say service B) comes, do you expect them to run all the way to board service B? Especially if the berths are far apart - then good luck running across the interchange. Putting A and B at the same berth effectively saves you from all the trouble as you can just board B at this berth even when you are in A's queue. (This is also why all the Tampines-bound services at TPE bus stop are grouped together at the same 'berth', and likewise for all Pasir Ris-bound services,)

Yes, I know there are bus arrival timings displayed in bus interchanges. But they're not always accurate; in fact, for some services, it's never accurate.

I share the exact same sentiments as array88. Wouldn't it cause so much inconvenience if you want to go to Pioneer and can choose between 241 and 179, and they are placed at opposite ends of the interchange? When people are rushing they would have to run all the way from one end to the other, and at the same time everyone is usually in a rush to get home in Sg lol

Today, I saw that posters of individual bus routes have been put up on the information panel (the one showing the bus route and frequency) at all related bus stops.

Actually, I kinda regret it now. That I had spent (wasted) so much time on writing about bus routes (eg. Constantly asking for bus service to Pioneer MRT Station) and maintaining this thread. At the end of the day, all I got is just a thread with around five hundred posts, while I have given up so much of my life.

Although Joo Koon is finally opening, I am actually not looking forward to it. Joo Koon Bus Interchange is actually just a very small bus interchange located at the most ulu part of Singapore. Yet, I actually wasted so much time on it. If I could turn back time, I would probably not even write in to the LTA back then in year 2011 to repeatedly suggest bus services to Pioneer MRT Station, not to mention joining this forum and wasting so much time on this thread.

My studies are at stake now and I really have to go. I will probably not participate in online forums (including skyscrapercity) from now on.

Thank you for the six years and thank you for making thread a success. Who knew a thread about a very small bus interchange could actually have five hundred over posts? It's a miracle, really.

Soon, you may notice that I am no longer writing in forums. While my absence may be felt, please do not miss me.

Service Guides for all affected Svcs excluding 99 out at BNL int, visually different from the current version by having a full white background and a purple strip at the top to tell people about the dates these services are implmented.

Hi guys... Just a add on, some of you may or may not know this but the joo koon int guides at BNL were cleared by the interchange office because of an error... They threw away most of the guides. New ones being printed

Personally, I feel that the way they swap 192 and 193 is like very fucked up. 193 could have remain the same, while we only re-route 192 over to Boon Lay. What for make 192 and 193 duplicate each other at Benoi Road and Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim?

In fact, 192 could simply ply the exact route of 258 from Boon Lay Bus Interchange to Pioneer Road North. No need for a new bus service. Thereafter, 192 continue as per current route to Tuas Bus Terminal. One advantage of this is that affected commuters working at Jurong Industrial Estate can take 192 from another bus stop that is still within walking distance from their homes at Jurong West Avenue 4, without having to take another bus and make transfer at Boon Lay Bus Interchange.

I agree. There's no need for that new bus service when 192 could have taken the route of that new bus service between Boon Lay Bus Interchange and Pioneer Road North. Very few people at Jurong West go to Fairprice Hub anyway. This can be seen on the free shuttle bus service that plies between Fairprice Hub and Jurong West. It's usually empty buses and even if have people, it's only like less than five. Since there is already 99 going to provide the bus connection between Jurong West and Fairprice Hub, I do not think there is really a need for another bus service to provide that connection. It's going to be over-served anyway.

I agree that 193 should continue as per current route. By removing 193 from Pasir Laba camp and shortening 182 to Joo Koon, the people at Pasir Laba camp would lose their bus connection to Boon Lay Bus Interchange.

I think they want 193 to go to Joo Koon (or at least Benoi Rd) so that Jurong West Ave 4 residents can take 193 and transfer to those JIS there. Thus it goes to Jln Ahmad Ibrahim.

Apparently, bus service 99 does not have flyer about its extension to Joo Koon Bus Interchange. Boon Lay don’t have. Clementi don’t have. Even the buses on bus service 99 also don’t have. Nonetheless, at least there is the individual route amendment poster at the bus stops where bus service 99 calls.

I disagree with the first point. By making 192 plying the route of 258, there are definitely going to be serious problems. It is somehow difficult to explain, but I do not think that as a trunk service, 192 should ply the route like a feeder hybrid. Trunks are meant to provide direct connections from one area to another while feeders bring people from residential estates to the nearest MRT stations/bus interchange. Furthermore, the distance is going to increase, as well as the frequency and number of buses in its fleet. I do not think this can be explained away by the fact that the demand between Jurong West and Fairprice Hub is low.

I'm curious as to why the pair of bus stops along Benoi Rd right outside Joo Koon Int are not given matching bus stop codes - the stop on the west side of the road is coded 23371, the opposite one is 23519.

If this has happened since some time ago, had no one bothered to correct it?
