Actually this arrangement is quite good. Ppl can connect to JK via 502, but it goes thru quite a bit of residential estate b4 it goes to the city. Hmmm not sure if thats the best? I thought of a more direct service frm an estate, like eg CCK to JK in the most direct way, so that ppl can go there quickly

Time: 5:33pm to 6:34pm.

Bus No.: SG5369S

Until 9km, there were only +/- 5 passengers on the bus.

The number of passengers started to increase from 9km; Tuas Crescent.

Most people board the bus at +/- 11km and 13km; Tuas Avenue 11 and Pioneer Road.

Highest loading: 52; Lowest loading: 2; Average loading: 16.8

Conclusion: Not advisable to skip Tuas Crescent onwards; don't extend 254 to Tuas. If want to improve the service, can skip the loop at Tuas Road, and let another service cover that section.

Actually, considering most of the loading is at Tuas Avenue 11, Tuas Basin Link and Pioneer Road, and the difficulty of finding a route that loops at Tuas Avenue 11 (which does not require bi-directional bus coverage) and connect to the Tuas West MRT stations without the passengers incurring additional travel distance, it's best that route 254 remains intact.

The new bus stops at Tuas Crescent can be for another bus service to ply Tuas Crescent in both directions (or loop in that other direction), to serve the southern part of Tuas, and connect to the Gul Circle MRT station at Tuas Road (or Tuas Crescent MRT station at Pioneer Road).

The strategy is to use the Tuas West MRT stations to shorten the bus routes at Tuas, to Tuas.

Bus services 192, 193 and 182 can have their route amended, to connect to Gul Circle, Tuas Crescent and Tuas West Road stations respectively, and loop at the vincinity (192: Joo Koon, via Upper Jurong Road; 193: Tuas Avenue 5, via Tuas Road; 182: shorten to Tuas, let 256 cover the skipped sector at Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim).

This would create 2 vacancies at Boon Lay.

As we all know, the Tuas West MRT Line uses a different signalling system than the existing East West Line. There's a possibility that Joo Koon MRT station would become a temporary "Interchange" for one year, where the main line and extension line intersect. The platform should be able to accommodate all the people transferring trains, as not many people would use the new line anyway.

There's a rumour at SG trains forum that the Tuas West MRT line will open on 25 March 2017.

Also, all trains will run to Tuas Link station.
