How you can contemplate divorce over such a minor thing is beyond me. Just take her "divorce" threats as hot air and do not let her micro-manage your life.

The problem, from my point of view is that you have got the situation wrong. You cannot stand her micro management, even though you say you can, and the part about her threatening you is actually the non-issue.

My phone rings, she wants to know who call/sms, what is the content of it?

I email, she wants to know who and what I email.

I msn, she wants to know who is in my list, especially female colleagues.

I go out with friend. She wants to know what I doing.

There is never a second she does not scrutinize me, except while working.

Now, I am not trying to be unfilial to my mum. But I do not want both parties to interact too much and I caught inbetween. It will hurt a lot if in-law and wife r/s go sour. I do not need real life experience to know it, I can imagine it.

Although she may not mean it, but if she can say it, means she got think before ma. If it continues it will not be long before she really means it, no? Why be with someone constantly thinking about divorcing?

And when that day she is serious about it, and you still think its hot airs, I think you just look like a complete fool. TS should let his wife know that her threats is very disturbing to him. If she still does it, just divorce.

True. Guys don't feel it because it's our own mothers. But wife will feel it if mother order them around. And old people tend to be superstitious. Adds to the problem.

Sorry Embarassed maybe my ego was doing the talking. Almost all the things she wants win, how to compromise.

Like next year CNY, I say want to avoid relatives, go overseas, she don't want.

Then I say if in Singapore, I request to visit only ONE family. She don't want.

But her relatives she want to entertain them.

I treat marriage as a very sacred union between my wife and me. I did not take it lightly. So far, in all her threats, I only agreed to divorce once, and it threw her into a fit few days ago. Rehearsal only lah, I think to myself. Next time then the real thing loh. Don't think I very relaxed type all this, very frustrating and hurting one, I tell you!
