I cannot quite agree with such 'standardization' as PTOs should
have a minimum of spares to maintain for "integral" vehicles like
the Citaro. Granted that the vehicle comes CBU, along with the
manufacturer's massive inventory network (extra brownie points if
you can positively identify the lights and items used from OEM
catalogues), minimal inventory and maintenance is actually needed
for such vehicles (unless you bork a major component like an
engine, HVAC compressor so on so forth).
To distill the issue, its really a case of 'how major a
maintenance the operators should undertake'. If the operators are
doing the usual 10,000km/UQM/AVI, little really needs to be done as
long as the BCs dont get into an RTA. If something major is borked,
the vehicle should be going to the dealer UNLESS the PTO takes it
upon itself to fully restore the vehicle (which is quite unlikely
given depot space and the level of expertise of its technical
crew).
