Its a world apart for performance between SBST Citaros and SMRT ones..Seem like the first gear is restricted preventing the buses to have smooth fast acceleration..Safety reason again

on the other hand, there are at least 10 unregistered citaros at pandan C&C

also, got 1 unknown citaro on repair. mechanics hoist the whole bus up & repair at the engine part of the bus, with the engine cover open

Yeaps. 6x new Citaros parked inside the area of Loyang depot currently. This has been the case since about 2 weeks ago.

The thing to note, is that they're only parked at the completed open-air lots, while the multi-storey workshop (& i think admin building) is still under construction.

Likely SBST is just storing them there for now till BNDEP has enough space for these new Citaros. Or maybe they're meant for other depots as well, but just storing them there for now if Sembawang Wharves is full already with other unregistered Citaros.

if the SBST buses consistently accelerate slower than the SMRT ones, you can almost certainly confirm that SBST did some or all of the following to its Citaros:
1) engine detuning
2) torque limitation in gear 1
3) transmission programming to Eco-mode

the SMRT Voith and SBST Citaros (at least the first 150) are mechanically similar, hence you can rule out differences in drivetrain performance affecting their acceleration.

Last time during i was a BC,We a handful of bunch knew how to make those B10Ms/N113CRBs/VO3Xs speed on expressway..Nowadays its all electronic control..

as long as the gearbox has no failsafe that prevents re-engaging at high speed, should be able to speed to 60kmh then shift to N?

Yeah, I agree with you. Nowadays it's hard to find any newer buses that can go beyond the 60kmh limit on level roads. At most it's up to 65kmh.

Only the older ones (Mk4s, VO3xs) can still go beyond the speed limits on expressways. Especially those on the FFw services (the Sv 10e & 89e VO3xs). I've only spotted a few CDGE B9TLs that can go beyond the speed limit on expressway stretches..

Err, I suppose geographically wise, it's counted as East district. Also IIRC someone mention before that Loyand Depot is supposed to replace BNDEP in some way or another..

Downslope?Even downslope also the buses wont go past 61kmh due to electronic control...Its some kind of special buses that can maintain 65kmh even on straight road.

Its between complementing Bndep and Hgdep.Future Changi Depot is meant for Bndep replacement.
