It really comes down to maintenance. Even an A22 will exhibit
similar characteristics if maintenance is neglected.
The A22's proposed third door design, if adopted, is going to
LTA and operators endless headaches, woes and nightmares. Think
about the time taken for the platform to extend and retract
alone.
Well the truth is the A22 does feel miles better than Citaro..
So it could only be due to Citaro being a lousy make or SBST doing
a shit job at maintenance.
The third door design is going to be a blessing I believe, esp
for commuters. Also, how long will the platform take to move? It
could move simultantiously as the doors move too, something like
the platform screen and train doors opening together. Non-issue
here.
