In fact, most of the time, a typical man would tell himself he
should give himself another try, using the reason you have given
above and as MCsquare has mentioned: Only the individual will
determine the worth of persistence. This is where he would probably
decide to invest more and when he failed the second time round,
this time, with the increased liability he has incurred, he would
either attempt to pursue a 'break even' or leave with the trauma of
greater lost.
Do you gamble? Because yunhaier is a gambler and in gambling,
especially when one is on the losing streak, it's difficult to
command our emotions to cut loses, especially when one harbour the
thought of 'breaking even'. In the end? You probably lose
more.
Why?
Because it doesn't hurt to try one more time.
P.S: [b]The cosmic lesson
is often not about hardwork because if it's the lack of hardwork
that is missing from the equation, then he would probably have
succeeded. It's about dealing with rejection and
how to channel those energies to evolve oneself.

'Adversity quotient' requires alot of homework, research and
studies, ability to see long term and to take risk and lots of
common sense(!!!!!!)
Experience(good ones) is definitely a powerful aid.
