it will be perfectly ideal, but not feasible.
Some races just good in certain games, say Chinese for table
tennis .
can u tell me why USA does not play any game in men table
tennis,
and France not in table tennis women game?
They are one of the biggest and strongest team. Why?
A lot of big counties need Chinese players in table tennis,be
they born
in PRC or not.
Check this out for countries and all their alhletes

For example
Out of 4 women table tennis athletes from Germany,2 are
Chinese.
All 3 Oz women table tennis are Chinese.
I agree with you on the fact that certain races are good for
certain events.
However,it dosen't help with the fact that a majority of our
team is made of players who weren't born and bred here.
Other countries have non-locals to fill up their teams but at
least a majority of their strength is made up of their own
"countrymen".
Let's say that if each of those non-locals won a gold medal for
their efforts at the end of the day,I think some of us will still
feel a certain detachment towards their achievements.
It's just like if Singapore did not have any NS and went to war
hiring only mercenaries to fight for us.We are a proud enough
nation to handle our own defence, why not do the same for the
international stage too where nationlistic pride is at stake??
I have to give China credit for not importing talents for any of
their sports teams. They did not hire any caucasians to handle
their fencing events, football nor baseball. These are sports which
people usually expect the western countries to dominate.
Why dosen't China import sports talents???How about wooing
Michael Phelps over to their side and giving him a PRC citizenship
and all the peking ducks that he can eat??
Wait, do I hear "Because they are a sports powerhouse and don't
need to do that???"
*Looks at Singapore*......Majulah Singapura?
I respect our imported talents' achievements only because they
are sportsmen/women but not because they are holding the same
citizenship as me and earning my tax dollars.
Mr Ang Peng Siong may not have won an olympic gold but my heart
burns with pride whenever people mention him as a model Singaporean
Athelete.
