There's no other way for 191 to call at bus stops closer to EWL Buona Vista. In fact, the current bus stop already has the shortest distance to EWL compared to other bus stops in this region. You need to realise the only EWL exit is at North Buona Vista Road.

Isn't there like a pair of bus stop outside the EWL station of Buona Vista, along Commonwealth Avenue West? But how to go there, I don't know.

Indeed, the route is seamless from the EWL platform to the bus stop at North Buona Vista Road. However, the walking distance is long.

Service 92 amendment

Amending 92 will cause an increase in travelling time from Science Park to Buona Vista MRT. Most of the commuters still use EWL I think...

Agree 61 should break into 2 services.

This is my suggestion:

Bukit Batok Interchange <> Marina Center Terminal

* same route until Chinatown, after which turn right (970 route) and then go left to Fullerton, Suntec City, Marina Center Teminal.

New service 71

Shenton Way Terminal <> Eunos Interchange

* Shenton Way, Maxwell Road (no service today), Kreta Ayer, Chinatown... and continues on existing sv 61 route

=> Will improve reliability of sv 61 and deployment of HC buses for the peak period.

=> No major inconvenience to pax, as have 166 in parallel to cover the route from Alexandra Road to Victoria St

Amending 92 will cause an increase in travelling time from Science Park to Buona Vista MRT. Most of the commuters still use EWL I think...

Frankly I don't feel there is a need to introduce a brand new service just to serve those areas, given an abundance of services at Buona Vista. 92 is almost the only service capable of making this diversion. 200 may be possible if its frequency is boosted. I wouldn't dare to touch 74, 196 or 198.

If we're considering an extension (to ARBP), then it's another story altogether. Perhaps 185?

Visited the Bulim Bus Depot today. This was the route of the shuttle bus.

I feel that this is a good route. If implemented as a bus service, it could provide bus connection for the people working at Bulim Avenue, as well as enhance the intra-town bus connection within Jurong West extension town.

Assuming Gombak Dr is opened once DTL 2 is fully opened.

Jurong Gateway Rd > Jurong East Ctrl > Boon Lay Way > Jurong Town Hall Rd > Bukit Batok Rd > Bukit Batok West Av 8 > Bukit Batok West Av 6 > Bukit Batok St 21 > Bukit Batok East Av 4 > Bukit Batok East Av 2 > Bukit Batok East Av 6 > Jln Jurong Kechil > Upp Bukit Timah Rd > Dairy Farm Rd > Petir Rd > Cashew Rd > Upp Bukit Timah Rd > Gombak Dr (Loop)

- Provides the above Bukit Batok areas with direct connections to the burgeoning Jurong East area without having to transfer at Bukit Batok and DTL 2 at Beauty World MRT. This will supplement 66, 173, 985 and 990 by serving parts of Bt Batok that these routes do not serve. A secondary objective would be to better link these areas to amenities along Upp Bukit Timah such as Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Rail Mall, etc (not important though)

- Connects condominiums at Dairy Farm Rd and HDB blocks along Petir Rd that are a distance from Pending LRT with Cashew/Hillview MRT stations. Also connects these areas with amenities in Bukit Timah/Clementi Rd such as Bukit Timah Plaza, Ngee Ann Poly, SIM etc by enabling bus transfers along Upp Bukit Timah Rd. There will also be a direct connection to Jurong East albeit a bit winding, but this would be a secondary objective.

AM/PM Peak - 10 -14 mins

AM/PM off peak - 12-18 mins

While I do agree that southern Bt Batok can have better links to Bt Panjang, the stops which your route serve are still in close proximity to 176 / 178, which can be easy alternatives to both Jurong East and Bt Panjang. BB East Ave 6 (east side) has 963 within walking distance to BPJ.

As for the other areas, I refer back to my old suggestion on splitting 173, with some amendments:

Service 173: Clementi Int to Petir Rd (Loop)

To terminate at Bt Panjang when ITH is completed.

Service 425: Bt Batok Int to Cashew MRT Stn (Loop)

To cover lost sections of 173, as well as providing links from Chestnut estate to both Cashew & Hillview MRT stations.

(Service number is tentative, in the event that Tower Transit decides to designate any new trunk services as 4xx. 173 will be returned to SMRT.)

Most former 173 links are well covered: Hillview - Clementi by 963, Hillview - Beauty World by 970, Bt Batok - UBT Rd (Rail Mall) by 178, Bt Batok - Toh Tuck by 77, and so on. Separating this service allow the two sections to be more direct and more useful services (as compared to the current loopback that the 173 route exhibits).

425 provides MRT link to/from Chestnut as such: Hillview MRT --> Chestnut Dr/Ave --> Cashew MRT, and provides link to Bt Batok. Amended 173 connects Chestnut to Bt Panjang, Beauty World and Clementi.

One-Punch Man SG

Come to think about it, there is no direct bus to the Caldecott Broadcast Centre (Mediacorp).

As such, I would like to suggest a new bus service that loops around it.

Length = 8.23 km
Travel Time = 16 mins

As it is only 8.23km, it can be categorized as a feeder and provide feeder bus connection for the people staying in the Caldecott Hill landed properties - besides providing the direct bus connection for the people working at Mediacorp and the people going to the Mediacorp Theatre to watch show (eg. Star Awards, 黄金年华, etcetera.).

Service 983 Extension:

Bad move ... while this will relieve the loading on 302 / 307, it will cause a big jam at the bus stop outside CCK MRT, and will not help Yew Tee residents going to BPJ (as it would be competition with Ave 5/7 residents). Besides 983 is serving its purpose well along Ave 5. Better to adjust 302 / 979 to make them more efficient.
