so 324 not so useless as all say. still got 30 peop every bus. but i do agree your point that 324 could extend to jalan kayu. no need 102 and 324 duplicate upp s'goon sector.

It is definitely not useless as Upper Serangoon residents did need another service to Hougang apart from 62. But giving them two instead of one is excessive. 324 number cannot be used for extension as it is feeder, but 102 def could.

Were there a lot of boarding/alighting at Tanah Merah (towards Marine Parade)? Surprised to see loading didn't suddenly drop a lot here...

@ptbm - In addition to what array asked, it does seem that sv 47 has a unique patronage as I can still see 26 pax taking it to Marine Parade road. So 47 does provide a connection to Marine Parade residents to Bedok South Road and Tanah Merah.

* there could be some minor error in rego numbers as I was documenting too many things quickly

* check out that there was 24 minutes difference between 6.07 and 6.31 bus. Guess 3103c got delayed on the way. 3124s came from behind and started honking badly. So 3103c just took 38pax while rest boarded 3124s.

* 301 might soon get fleet add as the frequency is not that good, but there are dedicated people waiting in the queue for ave 2 and keat hong close.

* 300 still commands higher loading and comes more frequent, every 05 mins, hence people for ave 4 join 300 queue than 983 (realized coz the bus I boarded had very few pax alighting along ave 4. 35 pax alighted at first stop of ave 5)

* Loading expected to rise since huge blocks coming up along ave 7/1 and occupancy at Sunshine Gardens (ave 5) seems low. Keat Hong Close some blocks have opened as there was light but occupancy still low.

* A condo is coming up at junction of ave 1/6. Will be the rare condo in HDB haven. LOL.

* There are 4 DDs, 1 Bendy and 3 Rigids for sure on 983. Don't know the 9th bus is rigid or DD.

* Spotted 5904 on 979 with both lower and upper deck seated (must have around 60 pax approx.)

Just from observation can say, loading has been impacted, on some services more than others

190 - negligible impact (still could see DDs having 70-80 pax)

700 - huge impact (can see buses with <30 pax now)

960 - quite huge impact (saw many buses only with seated loading)

972 - still need to assess, could not make out from few buses observed.

12-14 peop alight at tnm mrt. same num board as num bef and aft tnm same. i was looking to see at tnm mrt if 2 dd in front which bus. turn to be 2 and 31.

few peop alight bdk sth rd. most go mp road. 12 stand at traffic to turn right at uec junction. now i knw why load was not high at tnm mrt.

- 25 and 87 are doing very well at Hougang Ave 3 (same as what BusAnalyzer observed the other day). Even 45 has good loading (are fleet upgrades neessary?)

- 151 towards Kent Ridge at this time does help to bring workers at Airport Rd to MacPherson Rd / PIE to transfer to other services. Last time I also observed 151 SD packed to the door at Airport Rd and majority of pax alighted at MacPherson Rd to transfer, probably to 64/65/66 etc.

-> Suggestion: Divert 66 to MacPherson Rd, Airport Rd and Eunos Link, so that workers at Airport Rd and Eunos Link have a direct service to Little India (which seems to be a popular connection). Also reduces duplication with 65 and upcoming DTL3.

- 154 all the way in front starting from PIE, resulting in such poor loading observed on 151

7.09pm: 970 at Sixth Avenue turning into Bt Timah Rd (towards BPJ) had 15-20 pax standing

7.11pm: 77 turning from Holland Rd to Sixth Avenue (towards BB) had ~25 pax

8.20pm: Two 961 almost bunched up at Bt Timah Rd (opp Natl JC) towards Woodlands. Bus in front was packed to the door; bus at the back had less than 5 pax.

(Makes me wonder how 961 survived after DTL2?)

- Loading has picked up between Clementi and Pandan. 60 pax from Kent Ridge side to Clementi and 53 pax towards Pandan side (higher than my previous observations) are actually not bad, although may not really need DDs.

- Of the 53 pax towards Pandan Gardens, 9 alighted at AYE, 18 at Penjuru Rd and West Coast Rd, 4~15 at Teban Gardens, and 5~13 at Pandan. (In reality there should only be less than 7 pax alighting at Pandan Gardens) Seems that for PM peak 201 mainly targets Penjuru / Teban pax.

- Time from Clementi to Teban Gdns Rd is 15 mins (comparable to Jurong East MRT -> Teban Gdns); to Pandan Gdns is 21 mins.
Time from Teban Gdns Rd to Clementi is 21 mins; from Pandan Gdns is 15 mins (comparable to Pandan Gdns -> Jurong East MRT).

- Still, Teban residents prefer to alight at Jurong East and take 79/143, instead of alighting at Clementi and taking 201. There's also more capacity at Jurong East with better frequency - just look at how 143, 143M and 79 DDs came back to back with 2 DDs almost empty...

- Note how 201 functions as a "townlink": 19 pax boarded from West Coast Rd (after Penjuru) and Teban, and I believe some alighted at Pandan Gdns

- Surprising to see 33 pax boarding at Kent Ridge. And most pax waiting at the terminal actually took 201. Of course many seems to be NUS students... Most of them alighted at West Coast Rd before Clementi.

- So during normal PM peak (or slightly after PM peak), 154 functions as a "feeder" from Clementi MRT to Clementi Rd. (33 pax alighted before SIM, with 9 pax taking 154 for only 2 stops and alighting at Commonwealth Ave West)

- Even after EWL and DTL, some Ngee Ann students still use 154 to the East. Three girls were sitting behind me, one planning to alight at Paya Lebar and one at MacPherson.

(Seems that one of them live in Sengkang West. She comes to school by MRT every morning, but in the afternoon she takes 74-86 or 52-50. Today she was taking 154-70, probably so that she can travel with friends)

- Ngee Ann students are complaining the walk from King Albert Park MRT to Ngee Ann is too far and the buses (74, 151, 154) are crowded

- Feel that not many people are taking bus to DTL stations from bus stops along Bukit Timah. Even at MRT stations the most you can see waiting for buses is 3-4 pax.. Either they're walking directly to MRT, or DTL's demand at Bukit Timah has still not picked up (despite LTA's various publicity measures).

Nice loading analysis. Good to see 201 picking up especially with bus just 09 mins in front. It got 1 more DD by the way.

Has 151 got more DDs now? I noticed the other day when I was at HCI observing 116/324, I spotted 3 DDs leave interchange + 1 DD while I was on bus 87. So totally spotted 4 DDs. I thought it maybe 1 day cameo, but from your observation also can already see 3 DDs + there should have been 1 DD that leaves around 6pm from HCI as I observed when it met me onboard 87 at Tampines Rd junction.

It will likely remain like that more or less permanently as long as 190/972 maintains their current standard, as folks prefer to take bus since its more direct, more seats, and with less walking.

The only real crowd will come from BPJ area. The Bt Timah Road residents are mostly car owners. The HCJC/NJC students are also mostly ferried in by parents's cars.

Hi mr antidennislance, I took it a few times from 4 to 6 jan. Observed quite low crowds compared to other MRT lines. Mrt trains are also quite small. Agree with what you say. Cheers. Thanks.

Maybe if 190/972 are given cutbacks then maybe we'll see much better use of taxpayers dollars on DTL2 ;) same for 67/700/960 too.

118 loadings are very good. Saw 1x DD towards Punggol at Simei Ave @6:07pm yesterday, full house with full standees. CBP workers really loving the service.
