Great move to loop 189 at Clementi Ave 1. First bold move seen by LTA. Welcome many such more.

990 route is good. I was sure this one would loop at JE MRT and not enter interchange, also connect BBT East ave 6. The Toh Guan loop is a bit surprising considering there is already 52/105/183/333 to MRT...

43M - great decision... bi-directional loads were super heavy on this route. Can expect the newly registered DDs to be given to 43M

17A - good for people living along Bedok North Ave 4... who don't have another service. Maybe 17A will get a WEG and Citaro from BSEP

201 - not sure about this route... looks a little complicated the way it is designed. I understand the Kent Ridge - Clementi part.. but then it loops around Penjuru, Teban Gardens and also Pandan Gardens before heading back...

3 bendies to be off from 189 WITH EFFECT FROM 23 NOVEMBER 2014 with the cutting short to Clementi Avenue 1.

Why should the bendies be cut? Rigids can be cut right... 189 still has heavy loading between Clementi and Bukit Batok...

any scope for 201 to get DDs... considering West Coast - Clementi can have quite high loading? Also connects Clementi to Penjuru/Teban/Pandan?

But I think should start with Citaros like sv 20.. and if needed upgrade to DDs later.

Hi mr busanalyser, sbs 201 is very good. Connects penjuru/teban/pandan/west coast to clementi mrt station. Two thumbs up! Last time when i was studying in RVHS 24 yrs ago, we have to walk out to AYE take sbs 154 to go clementi or take sbs 30, 51, smrt 176 and transfer to sbs 285 along west coast rd.

Now sbs 201 will divert some crowd to clementi mrt and not everybody to jurong east. Teban and pandan residents will reach clementi in 15 min via AYE and clementi ave 6. Cheers!!!!!

Yeap, 990 does NOT enter Jurong East Temp Int, hopefully it will for the future Interchange..

Actually 990 I see no demands beside those shoppers going IMM/Westgate. Hopefully there's shelter linking to JEI Temp from Opp Blk135 stop, and may the svc not be delayed by jams outside JEI Temp during peak hours.

Sad to say commuters(189) have to transfer to 201(after a 10mins wait..) if they are travelling to Kent Ridge...

Should 178 runs to Yew Tee and creates a fast connection to 75/184/174 etc. ??

And is LTA gonna build a proper bus terminal for 170X/CW1?? Passengers are seen standing on road sometimes..

Bro, inside & outside...both crowded...you have those workers' transport dropping them off before traffic.. Might as well let the bus turn in for passengers to have closer connectivity WHEN the new interchange opens..the bus can always enter JEI Temp straightaway to the berth to dropoff and pickup[97/197]..

Can also transfer to 183 la... I think it is a good move

And for 990 I said the same thing.. So I don't know why you bolded the "does not" part...?

I like the fact that it does not enter interchange... it would just be time consuming... there is always a long queue to enter interchange in PM... and ppl alighting... then might have to queue at berth until bus ahead takes pax and goes... this whole thing can really screw up the frequency..

Hi mr TIB429E, noted. Go inside interchange also not too bad an idea. Anyway the objective is to lure some people away from mrt and feed some people to this smrt 990 to have a direct journey home for those staying along its route. In this case, these people do not need go to bukit batok mrt. Cheers.

Great, now 188 and 189 finally meet at a single bus stop (along AYE) after so many near misses.

Service 990 ... still seems a little weird with the numbering, especially where the route meets 98 and 99 at Boon Lay Way. Hauntingly reminiscent of the old 989. (Hopefully they won't copy the BB scheme over to 995 or 999.) Routewise it could have been routed to BB East Ave 2/4 though, those places would benefit from the extra link. Nonetheless.

I think routwise coule have been routed via Jurong East st 21... but guess this road is not suitable for buses.. hence, all do Toh Guan road.

I am happy it does Jurong East ave 6... the houses there desperately needed a service... Also to think of it... the industrial area gets connection to Jurong East (though at some walking distance)...

I don't expect heavy loading for this service though... should be just about okay.

189 now stops Opp Nan Hua High School, they shiok already...last time students there used to have to walk up to Clementi Road to take 96 or 183 to Clementi...

The amendment to 189 is very good... can already see Clementi ave 1 residents hugely benefiting from this service now to get to MRT... Hopefully 189 will get DDs soon.

agreed totally! one service would have to go in to serve the residents there but i didnt imagine it to be 189...hahah!
