AMDEP feeders
I don't know if it is only me but I find the way AMDEP has
managed AMK feeders is quite lousy. Compared to them BNDEP, CGBP,
SLBP does quite a good job with its feeders.
Look at 334 - now has 9 DDs no BSEP
240 has 7 DDs no BSEP
241 has 9 DDs only 1 BSEP
243 has so many DDs + BSEP
291 has 11 DDs with 2 BSEP
293 has graduated to have 5-6 DDs
225 has around 4 DDs in its fleet
Now look at AMK
261 no DD, 3 BSEP add for such a short route - 8 buses
269 no DD, 4 BSEP add - 10 buses
265/268 just add BSEP as well as PPSS
* None of the above have got DDs, though they deserve it to
clear the crowds. Its been very lousy deployment on AMDEP side.
Cons of doing this:
* Way too many buses clogging interchange during peak hours
* Return journey of most of these buses is empty, wasting
resource
* The job can be done by DD on S-shift, but adding so many SDs
is increase in number of BCs, fuel and maintenance costs
* Heavy bunching on all these services and delays as first bus
super crowded slowing down first bus, next buses come and bunch
I think AMDEP seriously needs to consider deploying DDs on its
feeders and reduce 2 buses for 261 and 269 each.
In terms of freq Amdep feeders is great only bunching does
occured..They can add DDs to the townlinks which is more practical
to be honest.Maybe AMDEP/BRBP exclusively deploy their DDs for
trunk routes only
