SMRT need to order another 84 units at least on top of the 40
units.
I doubt that will happen. Given that it is moving to tender
based bus contracting model, I don't think SMRT would even want to
take the risk. In due course, even feeders/intra towns will have
DDs whether we like it or not.
Also, I think with T4 coming up... I am sure they will make
arrangement for a DD friendly interchange. For now, bendies on 858
will do the job. For other services, they just have to wake up and
introduce their M variants with higher capacity buses.
