Nope. Current fleet is okay. 139M takes care of the DD high loading of the route between Whompoa and Toa Payoh.

145 for now need 4 full day and 6 split shift DDs

139 no need add DDs,Current deployment is good already.

168 no need fleet additional for now,Most buses either half or quarter full..Peak hours also only 2-3 buses full where behind 2-3 buses hard to get 3/4 full..Timings also too near.291 another similiar scenario.

67 & 106 need 5 SDs to DDs conversion..61 can upgrade 2 SDs to DDs slot.969 3 SDs to DDs convert..

119 is bo bian cause its DDs and buses are controlled by LTA..

That time i talked to a bc driving 402 and he said LTA control the frequency and deployments of the BSEP bus svcs very strictly.. If you are late more than 10 mins BCs are fined. SBST has hardly any say in this afterall BSEP is under the government's control.

161 is quite okay now. Do you know how many DDs have been added and all SDs converted to DD slot? I think there is a huge improvement on 161 and it is doing quite well. Delays can happen on any long route but just adding buses is not the option here. We need more dedicated bus lanes.

I have a feeling they work together. SBST took few services to improve on its own, LTA took others. Like 181, 185, 334 (at least till now) are all improvements only from SBST side and none from LTA even though all these are super crowded services.

dun complain about weekend frequency.... almost every service have poor weekend frequency... there is lesser demand and obviously, SBST can put in more buses on weekend but then who is going to pay for the BC's OT? obviously, SBST have the data/loading level to determine how many buses they need to deploy on weekend..

he is complaining about the poor frequency on weekend for sv161, not for weekday (cos he only taking during weekend).. sv168 also have similar frequency on weekend and he never complain? lots of SMRT services also have poor frequency on weekend, he also never complain?

pls lah.. dun anyhow say.. why would a BC go purposely drive so slowly and in the end, he cant rest? there are many factors which can easily caused buses to arrive late....

BC will be query if they arrive way too early, that is for sure... but when BC are late, usually there are valid reasons involved... traffic jam/accident/too many ppl boarding etc etc...

it will be no good as if the driver drive fast or too fast there will be accident. i think it stupid to fine the driver of 10min late. we should put pressure to LTA to have traffic give way to public bus service using the expressway. one way is to ban big truck from usinig expressway during peak hours. other way to have a give way lane in expressway like YOG for public bus service.

Pls check carefully..AT LEAST 168 have reasonable frequency[<13mins on avg] + reasonable capacity supplied for weekends. 161 is far too unacceptable. You have 20mins+ waiting time for a single deck.

Back to topic..[of the capacity]

I don't see the reason why SBST can't make it full fleet DD for 161 on weekends? Even if they don't give a damn about the frequency, at least deploy full fleet DD like 168?

So sorry to say, I take 161 on both weekdays n weekends occasionally. Same for 168. 161 is indeed rubbish on weekends.

SMRT is in the mist of "upgrading", I won't put much comments until all DDs/A24s are settled down..

SBST should limit the no. of SDs to 3 MAX for weekends...not 4-6, if they don't fleet add.

They have more than enough to do so, so I don't see why they don't improve it.

Actually without valid reason, 10mins earlier or late will tio fine.. Take note only BSEP svcs only so strict. Trunk services not under BSEP like 402 the bc told me he can suka suka arrive and depart earlier or later than usual. He told me got some bcs chiong then reach terminal 12mins earlier then go there sleep. If im not wrong there's some buttons that the BC can activate eg. Wheelchair boarding or traffic jam etc so it will readjust the timing of the stipulated arrival time at the terminal and also to sync with the IRIS arrival timings.

If you dont believe me it's up to you afterall im not a BC. Take everything with a pinch of salt

Maybe because the BCs driving weekends shifts dont have DD license? Or maybe SBST thinks that 161 on weekends are doing okay? Is it true that there are Malaysian BCs driving 161 and 168? AFAIK they are only authorised to drive 160, 170/170X and 950.

Guess it's the management's problem. HGDEP is pretty rigid in terms of deploying DDs and the number of buses on their fully controlled routes.

The only time I have ever seen a SD on a DD slot on 43/M since last year was last month when SBS6500K did SBS3431X slot
