It's been a long time since my days in Melbourne, so I can't
really remember any good clubbing places except 2... 1 is closed
already, last I heard 
So the only other place I can recommend is at Crown
Hotel/Casino.
If your friend wants to have the grand casino kinda experience, I
would recommend that she give a try 
Tell her she has to bring her passport, because I
used to forget, & the security guards REFUSED to let me in
As uni students, we
used to have dinner there (great place called Waterfront for fresh,
succulent seafood) & dessert (Cafe Grecco or something like
that) then some of us would go gambling, whilst the rest of us
would watch movies/club.
If your friend wants to know where she can get yummy desserts &
light meals like lasagna, there's a lovely place we used to visit
when we got hungry in the middle of the night. It's along Swanston
Street, past Collins Street (IF I remember correctly) & called
Cafe Ling Contro.
