Don't forget our bike allow us to be more quick "footed" then a
car.
We are narrower, speedier too.
If a bike can squeeze on the dotted line between one car on the
left travelling at 80-90 kmh, and another car on the right
travelling about the same speed (maybe 90-100 kmh); I think in an
e-brake situation from a car in front, we can also zipped by the
e-braking car, by "squeezing" through from the LEFT, or from the
RIGHT.
Riding on the bike, or driving a 4-wheeler car or light truck, I
will always study the road in front and behind.
I will anticipate the situation in front, by looking at the
situation 4 cars ahead - when possible, or at least 2 cars ahead. I
will anticipate what is happening to that driver first, and will
determine how he will react that will affect the other cars in
front of me, so that I will take EARLY PRECAUTION.
I will look at the immediate vehicles behind me - to see if the guy
behind me is breathing down my neck, persistently getting too close
to my tail for comfort. I will check that this idiot will not get
too close to me in any e-situation that will endanger my property
(bike, car or truck). When on a bike, I will try to speed up and
overtake the other vehicles in front; or when driving a 4-wheeler,
I will move out of the way to let that guy pass. If situation is
heavy traffic, then I will press on my brake or turn on the hazzard
light to warn that idiot off my back, and keep his distance.
Many situation can always be hypothetically dreamed up as possible
worse case scenarios for riders or drivers.
But the word is ANTICIPATE - by reading the road situation AHEAD of
you (2 or 3 or 4 vehicles ahead), and be alert to the guy BEHIND
you. Watch the behavior or driving style of the vehicles in front
and behind you, and prepare your own riding habit in
response.
So far, it has serve me well.
