For your information, England last meeting with the Portugese
was in the quarterfinals of Euro 2004 when Portugal and England
drew 2-2 and Portugal won on penalties. Previously , Portugal beat
England 3-2 after going 2-0 behind in a group stage match in Euro
2000. It has been a long time since England has ever beaten
Portugal and on both occasions, Portugal were way better than
England. I follow the EPL but it was obvious that England was pure
crap against Ecuador , if not for Beckham and the crossbar, Ecuador
could have gone through. But Ecuador was also rubbish anyway and
England must be really lucky to be in a relatively easy group and
meet an inexperienced Ecuador team in the last 16. Facing a
depleted Portugal in the Q/F, even if Ronaldo does not recover in
time , there is always Simao Sabrosa or Luis Boamorte to depend on.
Its time England to be sent packing and the English fans to realise
that England is just an overhyped team. But well, England always
better against better opposition..
