yeah and there is actually 2 more incident that actually will justify those 2 extra red cards.

1st Figo headbutting someone.

2nd Sineider (unsure of correct spelling) pushing a player down during the near free for all incident after holland did not give the ball back after the ball is kick out for an injured player.

I wonder if Figo will be punished further or not pending FIFA decision if they look into the case of the headbutting.

hahaha.. robben have been trying hard on tat in virtually every match.. quite a dishonest player i must say.. n van persie did try to earn a penalty in the last min of extra time n end up got scolded by the portugese players.. lol Laughing

figo have been yellow-carded for tat incident.. if not wrong, once the referee make a decision, usually fifa cannot add in more punishment..

The second red card for holland seems not justified thou,that holland player was just hassling for the ball,there was no intentional elbow to foul figo,i thought figo reacted too strongly and look more like acting to get that holland player sent off.

there was defintely contact as u can tell from the red patch on figo face.. using elbow in the game is a dangerous act but perharps figo really over-reacted a bit on his part.. well, tis is when experience comes in.. anyway, IMO, the defender deserves to b sent off loh.. he have not been playing the ball all the while.. example was when he went in on ronaldo in the early stage of the game.. u can tell he did it on purpose.. portugal really showed world champion quality in this match. with a man down they continued to show how deadly they were in counter-attacks.

they were fast and creative. the dutch on the other were hopeless. this is not the holland team i know. they deserve to lose.

england will be real happy. deco and costhina cant play due to the red cards. ronaldo wont be playing due to injury.

but i still believe portugal are too good for england

I suppose you could say most of the cards were fair if you viewed the incidents in isolation, but a more pertinent point would be that the ref did not apply common sense to most situations. As Bill Shankly once remarked, "The problem with referees is that they know the rules, but don't know the game." - I couldn't think of a more appropriate instance to apply that point to... Wink

But Holland's defend was little shakey.
Just like I see the ball rolled back when Edwin Van der Sar tried to trap the ball during the first half.

holland really have no sportsmanship. they were supposed to give the ball back to portugal after the ball went out for someone to receive medical attention, but they attacked instead. thats why deco committed the foul that brought him his first yellow card.

The whole thing started with Boulahrouz Khalid making a rough tackle on C Ronaldo,yes it was a very very rough tackle but since he has already gotten a yellow card,i thought that should be it.

But no,portugal reacted to it too feverishly starting with costinha,he was like trying to main holland players after that looking more like he was trying to get himself send off,as it went on,it got worst and worst as each side tried to over reacting better over a past incident,going tit for tat.

So you can say that neither team is correct or should any particular team be singled out to be at fault cos both teams were at fault.They were reacting like it is a war field more than a soccer match.
