thanks for your aws, My car is manual gear, now i am using R14/185/60 rim, i feel that my car have some problem Sad .
1) first gear only can go 20km/h at 3000rpm and it can not go up
2) second gear 40km/h at 3000rpm
3)third gear 70km/h at 4000rpm
4) fourth gear 90km/h at 4000rpm
5) five gear not more then 120km/h

if i reduce the size of the rim, will it redure fuel consumption and increase the car speed Confused ? i also use 4221 exhoust but the silence is original, do u think it will affect the performance ?Ha...... no money to change to 1.3 L Embarassed ,may i have the NEC forum wed side? thanks Wink

my march got into an accident today, or yesterday. very sad can't sleep. not sure even to call it an accident, i hit a curb and damaged my front left tyre. It was close to 12noon and i excited CTE into braddell road going towards upper serangoon. i took the turn at the junction and was on the merge lane on the left side. just before going out of this tunnel onto the main road, i felt this very hard impact and jerk then the next thing i felt was a punctured tyre and my car was going lop sided... my heart sinked at that moment. my head was filling with OMG OMG OMG and i switch on my hazard light, slow down and stop at this bus stop probably 50m ahead. i came out of the car holding my breathe and went around from the right to the back checking at the bottom carriage, everywhere else seemed fine when finally i was on the left side and saw the punctured front left tyre. what was worst was that the tyre somehow was shifted out of place. so had this super bad feeling that don't think just by changing the tyre could save the day. went into the car and called the emergency tow hotline on nissan decal. the tow truck arrived in less then 30mins. the seasoned tow uncle surveyed the damage and told me i would hv to claim insurance, the shaft is spolit! we were heading to tanchong toa payoh when i told him i'm insured with ntuc income. he was just right in front of idac braddell and stopped immediately on the road side when he heard that. he said ntuc insurance cant go straight to tanchong, unless under AIG or the rest. must go report idac first and follow their procedures. he said no point going down toa payoh. i called toa payoh they told me to call ubi and ubi asked me to bring down the vehicle. the tow uncle suggested it's better i report at idac first since i'm there now otherwise will hv to send my injured march all over the place... i went in to idac and they said the proper procedure will be to report and do the damage assessemnt and wait for the assignment of repair workshop in 2 days time. i requested to repair at tanchong since they asked me to send down the vehicle when i called previously. very draining. think definitely will not insured with ntuc anymore. anyway, the assessment was done by end of the day and i was informed to arrange to tow my poor march to ubi follow morning for their assessment. i called ubi again and was told the repair was not guarantee to be done there if the quote were way too far for them to match that of ntuc authorised workshops. javascript:emoticon(' Sad ') very eventful day but i just want my march back soon and it seemed like there's more to come... sorry for this really long post hope i could go sleep now after sharing this heart breaking accident.

Wow still posting at this kind of timing, shows that you are heart broken Crying or Very sad hope you gotten some sleep. Or its also a good time to stay up and watch the france and portugal game. Very Happy Anyway I'm on Allianz insurance after surveying some other companies and find them competitive. When I took it up then, I actually verified with them that I can send my car back to Tan Chong and they are agreeable to it. The catch is the car must be not more than 3 years old and is still under Nissan warranty. The downside is I spent some time filling in the Allianz form at TC and also making a few phone calls. Should be more convenient if the insurance company is AIG for TC. Couple of months back got a windshield crack and I insisted to Allianz that I go back to TC to change them, they are agreeable and I can claim the insurance on it with no increase in premium. Their staff is also very helpful. They got the windshield changed within half a day. So you might want to check them out. Heard too many stories about NTUC Income for car insurance so never even consider them. Hope you get back your car soon.

Yes on your rims size to go back to stock, if u want to save of FC.
Did you lower your car with coil overs/ springs ? 4221 exhaust ?
Did you drop in an open pod. I need more Diagnostic to share any views with the lack of power and high end. By the way the k11 is 16v.... this babe is a kool ride. 'respect" !

1st of all, what are you going for with you ride.
You must think of your needs, pick up or Stability.
For sure when you increase your stocks rims to a bigger seting. You will increase your FC but gives you more stability and better handling than stock.

1. 0-100 km ( pick up )
2. Long distance/stablility/handling.
Go to NEC and check with them, friendly pple with lots of techincal knowlegde and "loh bang" for k11.

hi guys, just to share with all of you if you are thinking of connecting your ipod to your headunit.

i have just connected a RCA cable (the other side must be a 3.5mm stereo head) to my headunit's AUX (at the back of our head unit).

S$10 for labour and RCA cable set cost S$9/-. now i can enjoy MP3 songs in my new nissan march. cheap and good way to enjoy MP3 in our car instead of getting a new headunit.

thanks for your info, i need a car which can give me speed and save FC, i am using 185/60/R14 but when i at 110km/h it start not stable especially small connering aand handling also not so good, r u using Nissan K11??

i am on a k12, that's why i suggest you head over to NEC for some help.
i can give some baisc opinion after seeing no response for your quires. So i decide to post you some fundmental questions? If i cant even ask basic questions being a rider .... i can forget abt TECH talk. " bullshit" isn't it or stop moding my ride and end my passion. Wink

Whoa worst combo FC and Fast. You can only try to bridge a mid point cant be best of both ! if you are hard footer and floor alot ... i am sure your FC will increase to produce faster pick up..is a manual car cant be any worst off than an auto car. Taking conerns, do you have your strut bars for front and rear (carriage brace ), lower suspension. Putting in a 14 ich is ok, dun forget is a small ride and light... ! at 110km cornering how stable do you want. Dam ! you are fast driver. 2 x again ? did you install an open pod... ?

Did you go for engine check on the cams and values...... ! I believe your ride is managable at this point ! ( i guess it is a 8years old ride ) cant really ask for more right. She is a good ride.

Head over to NEC alright and have fun with the pros.... !

Hi,
1)Ask TC what are the damage part(s), They will have to tell you.

2)Call the Parts centre in Toa Payoh to see if they have it in stock, if not, ask them to check with the stockist, i believe the parts should already be in and they have in S'pore, re:ex stock.
Look for Richard, he is helpful only if you're nice and courteous to him.He will tell you which stockist has it in their inventory.

3)Purchase all the parts from the Parts centre or the stockist.

4)Bring it to another workshop to get it all fix, it is very much cheaper, you may only end up paying 1/3 of the price qouted by TC or even less.

For all you know, you may not have to claim against your own insurance and lose all your NCD because the cost of your accident is very very little/low if you purchase the parts and bring it to your own workshop to get it fix.
TC normally qoutes very high for such matters.

sorry for the late reply, i have go to NEC n chat to some of the people, they nice. i never install the strust bar(front and rear), this bar will help?? my suspension is normal high i think.what is open pod??i never go for engine check cos not sure which mechanic is good, can recommend one for me?

last two week, i send my car to check the suspension, before this i already change front suspension, you know what the mechanic tell me? he said i need to change all 4 unit cos gas leak. Ha.................. not sure he know or not

hihi, no no sentive or wht...............mostly i believe its based om 2 things, the glass or the wiperblades.............You'll have a bigger problem when it's pouring cats n dogs and the wiper can't help give you enough visibility.

This is likely to happen if u are still on rubber wipers that will wear out between six and 18 months.................

i used to also put rain-x on the glass to help it a bit but it does not last very long..........so hope ur glass has no wax on it.... Mr. Green

Just to share with you and also with the rest, Tan Chong and probably somewhere else in the market have this silicon wiper thing that I find is really useful. Used to cost about $17 (coupled with servicing package) to have the wiper changed to the silicone type. At the same time they will also polish the windscreen and apply some chemical on it. Some of us here has done it and find it beneficial and it really makes a difference during rainy days. I was able to drive without turning on my wiper when it rains heavily on the North South Highway. Give it try but the last i checked, if you do not do it with a service package with TC, it might cost you $30 plus.
