U guys are good, one glance and you know its UK-made...
Btw is it true that Honda Type-R (or even
JDM) models are only avaiable through parallel imports? I
think i've read from a car mag that Japs like to save the best for
themselves, hence the limitation in exporting to foreign
countries?
To me i cant differentiate a true Type-R from a fake, but i
think its credibility's already tarnished by some owners
deliberately wearing the Type-R badge and red logo...
JDM Type-Rs are ONLY available through PIs because Kah Motors is
bringing in the UK Type-R, which is a hatchback. While the JDM is a
saloon.
Rather easy to differentiate real JDM Type-Rs from fake Type-Rs.
The fake ones usually don't have the same white alloys of the real
Type-R. I believe the white alloys are unique to the JDM
Type-R.
And fake ones either have the stock brakes, which is smaller
than the Type-R ones. And their calipers may not be red in colour.
Even if it's red, it might just be a stuck on fake "Brembo"
calipers. Even if the fake Type-Rs have bigger brakes, it's usually
aftermarket and it's maybe grooved or cross-drilled. Rear bumpers
will usually be different also.
That's all I can think of for now.
