rainee SG Which type of red wine is of a reasonable quality and also not very expensive? I am not looking for very old and preserved ones, normal one will do, but of cos dun wan the taste to be revolting also..I have tasted some cheap and disgusting one in US before, but I have never bought wine in Singapore, so dunno wich one is good and wich one is bad... So need some suggestion, and better still if you can tell me the price of your bottle of choice Thanks
MooKu SG not good with red wine heheheh… but I remember there was always Jacob’s Creek on the table during dinner with colleagues… about SGD25 a bottle.
Herzog_Zwei SG Ah teacher rainie ah, u neber tell us what taste you like, how to select wine for you? Sweet or dry? Fruity or woody? Price range?
rainee SG taste ah...i want something that can go well with spaghetti and tomato + sausage sauce Open for recommendation if you have served this meal with wine before Price range...anything from $20 to $50...hopefully not more than that...
Herzog_Zwei SG Recommending aunty FI's choice here. Try to get Australian imports at Cold Storage and NTUC Fairprice for your price range. Try something slightly sweet to compliment your meal with a woody taste, if you don't know what red will suit exactly your taste, ask the shop assistant to help you sort out the slightly sweet and woody.
rainee SG alrite thanks... so can just ask the shop assistant for merlot, with a slightly sweet and woody taste?
Herzog_Zwei SG pinot noir is also a red... SO just go for any red new world wine with the above taste. I hope it's meatball spaghetti else I would say go with fruity.
rainee SG if served with alfredo sauce, i tink i will go with white wine... still thinking if i shud include meatballs or not...but too much work, i dunno how to make meatballs...not sure they got sell ready made one or not.. i dun really like white wine also...prefer red one...
rainee SG hmm...i m still thinking if i shud include meatball or not...cos meatball got beef, and someone cannot eat beef so if just spaghetti and sausages + tomatoes sauce, go with fruity?
FireIce SG there is a nice wine shop called Bottles & Bottles @ vivocity staff very frenly.....will explain to u and recommend u...... they have some exquisite brands oso......
Herzog_Zwei SG Italian sausges tend to have pork and beef mixed in. It's your decision, we can only take a good guess and advise.
