for bus interchanges/terminals
you can have trunk services on the ground level
feeders and intratown services on the 2nd floor
3rd floor for express services
each having a place for bus park
Not feasible. Like what I have said, one stop seamless transfer.
Besides, building such structures aren't cheap and needs to be
planned very carefully, and looking into aspects of how to develop
it in a way to earn the costs back in the shortest possible time.
Such things aren't as easy as snapping your fingers.
Bullshit. I am not hating DDs but bendies are useful. They help
tons more than the new rigid buses. (Exception for wheelchair
accessibility).
This is Singapore. Gahmen decide what they want. This topic only
starts Flamewars and is useless.
SMRT Buses can have both bendies and DDs. How did SBS Transit do
it? Why SMRT Buses can't?
FYI, LTA has already make it clear what they want. Both models
are useful in some ways but space constriants is already a
very major problem in land scarce Singapore. In the long term,
bendy buses are not going to be feasible in Singapore. Thus double
deckers are more feasible for Singapore public bus operations,
sorry to say that but that's the fact.
It is not practical for bus companies to operate both models
under the same roof as it will incur a lot of costs in parts,
manpower, and training. SBST did not operate both models and gave
up the bendy buses. SMRTB will not operate both models as well,
since it has already make losses every year and now it faces a much
bigger problem in its management issues and rather focusing on it
than giving itself more problems with hard-to-manage bus fleet with
so many different variations.
