If I'm not mistaken; they don't share exactly the same engines: The power rating of SBST merc is less than the SMRT ones.

and sorry to say tis sbst, please when you buy the citaro, PLEASE BE 100% low floor la :(

and why, why the b9 wright as mention above are not 100% low floor and straight staircases

uhhh.. the citaro will be 100% low floor as it is completely built up and the interior will be fitted out according to ther internal specifications. i think SBST will only have say on minor things such as the seat fabric and the interior colourscheme..

straight staircases consume plenty more space which will result in the loss of 2 pairs of seat on the upper deck. at the lower deck standing room will suffer which means the wheelchair space is compromised as well. and why it is not 100% low floor depends on operator specifications. would u rather have a 100% low floor but narrow aisle or a raised aisle but with a more spacious aisle? the bus is still a low-entry and exit one nonetheless.

if im not mistaken the constraints on the B9TL might be due to the axle configuration. though the axle layout for the B9TL and B10TL are the same, i believe that the suspension and other systems are different.

Its sbst's configuration that makes it not low floor. Both the B9TL and B10TL chassis was available for low floor, as can be seen on kmb's version. Even the first B9TL prototype (AVD1) from kmb was low floor from the start.

Unless we get some crazy driver with a DM3500.

It really isn't that hard for a 285hp bus to outrun a 250hp bus.

But in Singapore, it happens to be the case.

Jus saw a Wright B9 15 mins ago outside ITE Simei wif full svc 6 EDS.It was goin twds Pasir Ris direction.There were a lot of ppl wearing white uniform crowding ard the BC cabin.Front and rear top window had a white notice pasted.Not sure of the rego cuz i saw it from inside sch.
