Agreed. SMRT should get Japanese buses instead. Like the Hino Blue
Ribbon, seems to have hybrid version too. 
Also Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Nissan.
They buy Japanese buses can distinct themselves from SBST. Look
at the UDs, last till now.
the old nissan UD buses were really the best. though they don't
have air-suspensions like today's buses, but their ride is
amazingly much better with those normal leaf springs and shocks
setup. Nissan Diesel buses, though old, they still never fail to
impress me even till today when I'm lucky to have a chance to sit
in one.
