Lol. Cos u mentioned brake failure which is rather serious. The hissing sound should not affect the safety of the bus. Rather shocked that it was declared breakdown.

the brake pipe probably has a hole which causes the hissing sound. hissing sound = air leak = potential loss of braking power = brake failure sooner or later. so you want the bus to continue on service and endanger other people's lives la?

my gut feeling is that if it was a SLBP bus, you would have applauded the BC for taking the appropriate corrective measures. since it's a BRBP bus you would have dismissed the BC's actions as extreme and unnecessary. after all, SLBP can do no wrong ma...

Junction infront of Esplanade

Bus made a fast late left turn and threw 5 passengers out of their seats. An old lady was injured and an ambulance was called in. Ambulance arrived at 10 am at the Raffles Hotel bus stop along Beach Rd since the bus was told to stop there. Traffic Controller from SBST arrived on motorbike. In all, 2 passengers suffered back pain whereas the injured passenger was brought to a nearby hospital. Complimentary Tickets were given out. Bus driven by a PRC.

cos is peak hrs anyway. Can survive to int then tell mech to check.. I asked my friend who is also mech says that it is still safe. Doesn't matter it is a BRBP or SLBP bus.

has a horrible screeching sound while the bus is moving. Bus did not breakdown, but the screeching sounds seem serious.

Is it the fan belt? I encountered it once before on a DM3500. After screeching for more than a minute or two, white smoke started billowing out the sides of the bus and through the floorboards. The BC stopped the bus, turned off the engine and declared engine overheat.
