I don't think they can extend the date too early in advance. But they should be doing so because without extending the O405s would mean a sudden loss of bus...

This example has 29 fixed seats including 3 'granny' seats plus one fold-up seat. Means total of 30 seats if fold-up not removed. One wheelchair slot.

That means a lot as they have very high standards and expectations as Europe and still most Singaporeans think they are imported directly from Germany!
So Thai buses might be even exported to Europe (if it wouldn't be that far away).
But I've seen never any news about the sucessful exports of buses. Why?"

Maybe balance for Citaro G bendy which has an option of euro 5 or EEV.12 litre 354hp/1600nm?Who knows?SMRT always love to surprise.BTW more hp and torque is better for bendy as they need it for the loads that they carried.(Prevent overheating too).Citaro rigid has an option of ZF6 speed or 4 speed Voith.Heard that the new engine is more reliable than its 7 litre cousin..Capacity is a no for SG roads.More than 18m,Current bendies already create hoo haa..

Citaro is made in Germany, if they are shipped from Thailand as a rejected batch, how do we analyze that of the delivery slip?

For those folks who have seen the deliver slip that comes with the bus, its loaded at port BRV, which is essentially Bremerhaven in Germany and destination port of Singapore.

Furthermore I think he is quite naive to say, quote "still most Singaporeans think they are imported directly from Germany!". I expect most bus fans here to know, for the OC500LE buses, that the bodywork is done in Thailand and chassis does come from Spain, made by Evobus under Mercedes Benz. Truly what this Thai guy says has much to be desired...

it is plain fact that Citaros production is mainly based in germany. .

Again i will express my expectation that the bus interior will resemble a conventional Gen 2 Citaro in Bucarest, Dubai or Paris or (except London lah, they mostly use the 2004 version which i call gen 1. ).

let's continue looking forward to the arrival of the first Citaro on public revenue.. -=)

the gearbox where can have option for Voith. maybe they offer,lah .(Trasnlation from Singlish: The gearbolox can't possibly be a Voith. Perhaps they do offer the option, yes)

but the axle part is from ZF (Dave mentioned) and so it is therefore cost effective to use a ZF gearbox...same brand, cost savings..hahha kidding

OK lah, MAN vs Mercedes in Germany. How about that: . They will want to comepte. hence Citaros usually coupled with ZF and MAN Lion's City coupled with Voith. natural competition.

> edit. that was said assuming its a citaro gen 2 of 2006. this is 2009. so it comes with Voith as most likely. However SMRTB do indeed have the option of the regular Zf 6 speed Ecomat or ecolite modles.

MAN (Lion City full low floor models) and Volvo (7700 etc) do such placements as well. For double decks, the Neoplan Centroliner uses this placement.

Other than a side placement, an engine can be mounted transversely as well to accommodate a full low floor setting. This was done on the year 2000 Isuzu Erga (KL-LV834系フルノンステップバス/type B) full non-step bus model (presently discontinued) and is the only few Japanese buses that incorporate this technology. The others include the year 1996 UA Non-step bus series (later the Nissan Spacerunner) F type (FHI bodywork) and the N type (Nishi-nippon Shatai bodywork) KC/KL-UA272/460, CNG and diesel versions.

To differentiate a low floor bus and a low-entry bus, full low floor is used here to show that the bus is step-less along the entire corridor. A Citaro is a full low floor, a OC is a low entry.

sbst should order the 7700's then. not 1100 pieces of crap.

well yes, all major bus makers do offer their buses in these types of engine placement positions . this is especially empahsised by the Scania who uses letters to denote engine placement in their models.
