I don't think they can extend the date too early in advance. But they should be doing so because without extending the O405s would mean a sudden loss of bus...

That's still quite far away. By then the OCs might just be lining up for mid-life upgrading. For we might know Lances be sent to do 950 first after the O405s go.

As for O405, they came in 1995 hence their ROD would be ard 2012 - 2014... if it's 2012, it's getting near alrdy

It cant be put on revenue service yet. Everything has to be modified to local specs first, then sent to the Inspection Centre for checks.. then depot mechanics test the bus.. do some test run bla bla... get the idea?

Dunno what's so exciting about these 66 buses...in the end, its just another 66 SINGLE-decks. SMRT is seriously not getting around to getting higher capacity stuff are they? Citing facility limits and LTA's stand on bendies are not valid excuses.

I think these 2 points is already giving them headaches. If they somehow can't purchase bendies and buy more rigids, I don't think the massive number of rigids will fit into the depots comfortably. 13 to 15 metre buses may have the bus ending up as an eyesore and "hazard" to many road users.
