In fact the mayor was elected with the promise to get rid of
bendies from London streets.
The previous one got rid of the Routemaster and replaced them
with bendies, which was extremely unpopular due to its iconic
nature, boarding times and seating capacity.
It didn't help that the bendy buses caught fire in a few
incidents, one notoriously while it was on the Motorway
(Expressway), new bendy on delivery route to the bus company.
