This is the bus that kena accident along Woodlands Ave 3, rite? And the front was ripped off.

I see that each SMRT Bus that got into an accident would have orange EDS, from the prespective of WLDEP. WLDEP loves to put Orange EDS on it;s buses that kena accident. I dunno know why?

No more spare green/yellow EDS anymore at least for WLDEP. Now all they have is the orange EDS... Hence no choice..

its more convenient to fix a new EDS on a accident bus when it goes on lay up to get repaired, rather than laying up a perfectly fine bus in good condition to specially fit it with new EDS. Wink

Wrong. This bus was the one which SBS 2830 J collided into at Lentor Ave. After which it got laid up and then came back with new EDS.

The actual reason (as mentioned by Victor) is that WLDEP don't have any more of those original EDS. They only have a stock of these LAWO EDS so it is practically fitted onto any WLDEP bus which has it's original EDS damaged by whichever event which caused it.

Otherwise, it takes only a few days to fix a EDS on the bus and WLDEP can just choose any bus they want to feature it. They don't need to lay up a bus to change it's EDS one. Wink

Wonder what will AMDEP put onto it's buses; we have LAWO for WLDEP and Transit Media for KJDEP. Laughing

Funny thing is that BNDEP didn't lay-up 2830J in which it's condition was worse off than 0565U; practically the rear-half of the right side was gone after the accident. 0565U only front gone but WLDEP went to do lay-up procedures for it. Laughing

Its quite sad that in the case of KJ, they abandoned the hope of repairing 696A in lieu of the fire of 1118X.
And if you would put it in some way, 696A was deregistered soon after 1118X went into lay up...

Some of the body are no longer in stock,so they have to fabricate themselves.WLDEP is the major hospital for buses.You can also see Dennis,Hino and whatever buses that involved in an accident.
