actually i was thinking to introduce 74M or 74B , that run along the same route with Sv 74 , but it will go straight along Clementi Road and travel to Kent Ridge terminal. Maybe it can run at 15 mins frequency from 7am to 12 noon and use DD . Can use those VO2x loh since the students are asking for DD, but never mention AC or NAC. haha.

It will help to ease the load on Sv 151 and those students can choose to either transfer to Sv 96 along clementi road or alight at Kent Ridge terminal and take the internal shuttle near the Arts carpark (is there still shuttle service there?). I been almost 9 years never went back liao.
In the first place, SBST should not introduce Sv 151, then there will not be any complain. Everyone will take Sv 96. Even if increase the frequency of Sv 151 to 2 mins, it wont help also, cos of the traffic jam and you will still see buses bunching. Further, there is less demand out of NUS in morning, so what is SBST going to do with these extra buses, if they increase the frequency? All off service to Hougang/Bukit Timah to start new trips?

Not introduced? If dun have, ppl at Macpherson to Hougang will have no bus, Sv 154 might not be able to cope w/ Clementi Rd <-> Toa Payoh load alone either

I believe got to be like KMB, have section routes say 151C Toa Payoh <-> NUS and being a limited stop service or downroute, the one from Bt Timah can start from Toa Payoh instead to benefit more passengers

but at least VO2x got more seating capacities right? Further, i am not asking the DD to go inside NUS, just travel along clementi road towards kent ridge terminal. So it does not concern the slope. VO3x can also be used mah, if there is Sv 74M or Sv 74B.

PPl at macpherson still got sv 62 to hougang if there is no Sv 151. They can put all the buses on Sv 154 instead..

actually, when i was studying in NUS last time, there are downroute that start from Jalan Toa Payoh (opposite Blk 195 bus stop) and at the NIE bus stop at Bukit Timah and from NP. think now only got downroute from the NIE bus stop? i do get hold of the timing and usually,will get a seat though.. If not, i will usually take Sv 154 and transfer bus at NIE/NP or even clementi. As for limited stop service, usually it will be express or premium service. I dun think SBST will be interested.

PPl at macpherson still got sv 62 to hougang if there is no Sv 151. They can put all the buses on Sv 154 instead..

Actually personally I find 74 gotta serve ACJC/ SP esp 202 is replaced by 74 back in '93

But Sv 62 only serves MDI there... If your're at POSB or even Tai Seng you dun have any choices neither I do see any reason to add on Sv 62's load for no reason

Now it's only NUS BTC bus stop. If 179A can be implemented why not for 151? I dun think SBS would like to get complains just because of Svs like 151 when their service standard is good overall

I feel that the reason why buses plying service 151 bunches badly is partially due to the heavy congestion at Whitley Rd during the peak hours. Will it help if 151 continues to go PIE until Adam Rd and goes to Bukit Timah Rd from there?

154 can help to ply Whitley Rd and the affected section of Bukit Timah Rd due to the diversion of 151.

They could use those VO2x with standing area. They only have 3 less seats than the other VO2x.

Whether the bus roll back or not depends on BC driving style. That's why most 179 BCs will step on the accelerator for a 1-2 seconds before releasing the handbrake when climbing the NTU hill. The Standby/inexperienced ones dunno, they release handbrake first, then suddenly bus roll back.

i know, but SBST275 is asking to introduce a limited stop service (151C) from toa payoh to NUS. Not me. There is FFW151E, but students are not taking, cos they cant use concession pass. So i dun think SBST will introduce another limited stop service from TPY to NUS. If they introduce, then those NTU/SP/NP/SIM or whichever school ppl, will ask SBST to introduce one service from each housing estate?

For SP, there are so many services plus MRT serving it, so the demand forSv 74 will be less. For ACJC, the demand is before 8 am? So if introduce SV 74M, i dun think it will affect the SP/ACJC ppl much. Just like last time, when there is SV 74 which terminate at NP. SBST can just do it the same way as those trips that terminate at NP, but this time round, terminal at Kent Ridge instead.

So SBST should introduce back those downroute from Jalan Toa Payoh and NP, then it will definitely help in the load of SV 151. For Sv 179, the journey is short and thus the traffic is not worst. But for Sv 151,it pass through a lot of crowded areas and thus affecting its frequency..

As for Macpherson, you started by saying at 1st place 151 should not be introduced. By withdrawing it, many ppl along many stretches or travel pattern would be affected which incl Macpherson. If you said no comments, then in the 1st place that comment should not be there

Actually it's the schedule does not reflect the true situation (My prev post, 1 bus supposed to arrive KR at 0923, yet at 0907 it's still at Aft Sixth Ave bus stop) rather than crowded area I suppose.

If they're profit oriented for these cases, nothing is going to be solved and the whole day Sv 151 is going to get into ST Forum frequently for the wrong reasons.

Downroute can solve some of the problem but the current situation oftenly still means long waiting time and the packed 151 would arrive 1st just bef the downroute starts

then what do u wan SBST to do actually? do u think introduce 151C will solve the problem? does SBST have to give 3 mins frequency for Sv 151 from 6am to 10 pm so as to satisfy you? but in that case, buses will bunch, and then u will complain, just like what u have complain abt bunching in Sv 74.

as for Sv151, i did not say anything abt the withdrawal NOW. I was talking abt in 1994/95. If SBS does not Introduce Sv 151 THEN (in 1994/95) to NUS, then no complains will be heard.. All students just have to find their way to Clementi to take SV 96. Before that (94/95), there is also no bus from Macpherson to Hougang mah. So why are you talking abt the inconvenience to passengers at different sectors?

so ultimately, you still think that SV 151C will solve the problem right? i dun think so.

walk out to Clementi Road..delete the Kent Ridge Cres sector and dump in some of the crappy Batch 1s and make them happy la..best from 197 or SP and provide 197 with something like good Batch 2s or 3s...197 is the depots dumping grounds..HGDEP and BBDEP should deploy all the DDs on all of their non 151e S Shift slots...

Tat's then, alrdy the service is in place, it's to look how to resolve instead of regretting wa last time why have 151, back then freq was somemore 3 - 10 mins for AM or 4 - 8 mins for PM... now is 7 - 13 mins (AM) 6 - 15 min (PM)

Like I've said, how they schedule it matters. You can use excuses of jam each time, but no one is going to believe it once it becomes a daily affair

Sv 151C would enter Toa Payoh New Town or even terminate at Bishan and runs limited stop along Bt Timah. It ends up resolve the crowding problem at Opp Trellis Twr in the morning. In fact, once a rude Sv 5 BC was horning on a Sv 151 bus which passengers were alrdy have difficulty in boarding

At least better than empty 151A running around, but would be better if buses could start from Toa Payoh/ Bishan New Town and get onto Jln Toa Payoh in the morning

You have already mentioned that they are partly a profit oriented company. So, do you think they will provide so many buses for 151 then ?
