201911 SG Jakarta busways http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=314069 they use daewoo buses. design of the system is quite like the concept of subway trains, only thing is that buses are used instead of trains. its high floor buses ( ) not low floor buses, reason is that this levels the bus with the platform at the stations. but actually they might as well build a lower platform (around kerb level) and use low floor buses as well, that way the bus would still be level with the platform.
XiaoTaro SG The problem with low floor buses is that the spaces above the front wheels cant be used for seating or standing, that makes it one of the cons as lesser ppl can fit into the vehicle. Furthermore, those high floors are most likely cheaper to buy and to maintain.

TWS4793 SG Nice topic to discuss, but the topic should have been generally named "Overseas Buses" instead. I wasn't even a member of this forum when I went to Shanghai (and Suzhou, which is 100 km from Shanghai) together with my father's colleagues and immediate families for a holiday. I have picked only a few best photos for illustration since I do not have better ones. a) This is the coach that I took while I was in China for my holiday. I'll post the rego of the coach I took a little bit later on and tell you how the regos are being read. Shanghai/Category A/S3663 b) A tram (or in this case, a tour bus) is what transports people from place to place. This tram service runs from the Bund to (forgot place). c) The desto of a typical public bus in Shanghai. This is how you read the desto. kong tiao (=leng qi) 920 (means AIRCON 920) They put the route details on the side desto (refer to below). d) A typical desto of a public bus. Service 42 runs from Guangdong Road to the Shanghai sports centre (reading from desto). What I want you to take note of is the one circled red. Shanghai public buses do have their own TV Mobile.

Top: 03/12/2005. A rapidly disappearing sight in Japan; non-WAB buses. Model and make need confirmation. I guess by now it might have already retired and scrapped. Bottom: 02/12/2005. WAB, the new trend that popped up in a rapid-aging society. I guess Singapore is also following the trend but at a slower rate. The bus should be Mitsubishi, again needs confirmation.
TIB1224Y SG http://www.metacafe.com/watch/958929/the_best_bus_driver_in_the_world/ Check this out. Cause got no thread dedicated to videos so I think it should belong here... Its in Germany too... Who want to try on a DT in Sg? Do it at South Buona Vista Road?

Volvo MK4 SG erm theres supposed to be a pic here.. but i just wont appear. nvm verbal description, this pic is supposed to be a Volvo B12B from taiwan it has 425HP engine, which is probably the most powerful there, as so far, the closest that has come to this is a 420HP MAN bus.
tintinspartan SG Which bus' body is made by Gemilang? I see that Penang has 2 bus operators now. I know one bus company which has a red and white livery (simmilar to SBS pre-2000 livery) and the other one is Rapid Penang. Since when these buses are introduced? Looks new to me.
Oceane SG Very nice angle... and I wish SBST would choose rims for their future buses. If not looks very ugly.
